Rolex calibre 7190 is the self-winding movement made exclusively for the Perpetual Padellone. It combines an instantaneous annual calendar showing the date, day and month with a moonphase display. Rolex lists a 5 Hz frequency and an approximately 66-hour power reserve; those are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
Which watch uses calibre 7190?
Rolex says calibre 7190 is exclusive to the Perpetual Padellone, a 39 mm watch offered in 18 ct Everose gold or 950 platinum, with a Settimo bracelet or an alligator-leather strap. Its displays include hours, minutes, seconds, date, day, month and moonphase. A transparent case back reveals the movement’s finishing, including Rolex Côtes de Genève bridges and a cut-out yellow-gold oscillating weight. Rolex explains that “Padellone” refers to reference 8171, the name by which collectors know the historical watch. Rolex’s Perpetual Padellone page

How does the Haplos annual calendar work?
Haplos is Rolex’s name for the annual-calendar system. It adds two components to the instantaneous date mechanism to account for months with 30 or 31 days. The date, day and month change instantaneously at midnight. Rolex says the calendar programming is incorporated into the reverse side of the month disc.
This is an annual calendar, not a perpetual calendar: the stated mechanism accounts for 30- and 31-day months, but Rolex’s description does not say it automatically accounts for February’s shorter length. That distinction matters when considering how much calendar correction the watch may require.

What is distinctive about the regulating system?
Dynapulse escapement
Rolex describes Dynapulse as a silicon sequential-distribution escapement designed to resist strong magnetic fields. The company says seven patent applications are associated with the escapement. That is a count of applications, not granted patents.
Syloxi hairspring and oscillator
The silicon Syloxi hairspring has especially thick coils. Rolex says its material and design provide magnetic resistance, thermal stability and shock resistance, while the thicker coils supply the rigidity and power needed for the 5 Hz beat. The oscillator also uses a high-technology ceramic balance staff and an optimized brass balance wheel, and is mounted on optimized Paraflex shock absorbers. These are Rolex’s descriptions of the design and its intended properties, not independent test findings.
How does calibre 7190 relate to calibre 7135?
Rolex says calibre 7190 is based on the design of calibre 7135, which debuted with the Land-Dweller at its 2025 launch. The 7190 adapts that architecture for the Padellone’s annual calendar. Rolex also says the 71XX family shares a thinner profile, but the published material cited here does not provide movement thickness or a full specification comparison for the 7190 and 7135. The Rolex Newsroom describes the 7190 as unveiled “this year,” but does not give a precise announcement date in the material reviewed.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you buy or service the movement separately?
Rolex identifies the 7190 as exclusive to the Perpetual Padellone. The published information does not establish that the movement, replacement parts, compatible accessories or consumer repair tools are sold separately. It also does not establish current regional availability, retail pricing or service costs.
Rolex’s general user guidance recommends arranging periodic professional service through an Official Rolex Retailer or Service Centre. It describes a complete service as including dismantling, cleaning, inspection, replacement of components that do not meet Rolex specifications, lubrication and timing tests. That guidance covers Day-Date models generally; it is not a 7190-specific service schedule. Rolex watch care and service guidance
