What makes the Rolex GMT-Master II 126720VTNR distinctive?
The defining feature is the reversed crown-side layout: Rolex places the winding crown and crown guards on the left side of the case, while the date window sits at 9 o’clock. Rolex’s model-family page notes that, when this green-and-black bezel version launched in 2022, it was the only Rolex watch to present that configuration. Rolex’s 126720VTNR product page identifies the reference as an Oystersteel GMT-Master II.
“Destro,” “Sprite,” and “left-handed watch” are common shorthand used to describe it. The official designation is reference 126720VTNR; the nicknames do not establish that Rolex designed it exclusively for left-handed people. The left-side crown and date-at-9 arrangement are the documented distinguishing details.
How does the GMT display work?
The GMT-Master II is designed to show two time zones at once. Rolex’s user guide describes reading local time alongside either a reference time or the time in an alternative time zone. The central 24-hour hand works with the bidirectional, graduated 24-hour bezel: the hand makes one circuit per day, and rotating the bezel lets you read a second zone against its 24-hour scale. The independently rapid-setting hour hand can be adjusted without changing the 24-hour hand, which helps when resetting local time while keeping a reference time displayed.

For example, you can set the 24-hour hand to a reference zone and use the regular hour hand for local time. If you need a different second zone temporarily, rotate the bezel to offset the 24-hour scale. The meaningful distinction established by Rolex’s materials is the link design. Choose based on which bracelet’s appearance you prefer and whether its fit works for you; the cited specifications do not establish a comfort, weight, or price advantage for either.
