Other 2025 watchmaking highlights include Credor’s Gérald Genta-inspired Locomotive and Cartier designs spanning the Tank Louis Cartier, Tressage, Panthère and Tank à Guichets. Here’s what the brands announced and how the watches differ.
What is the Rolex Land-Dweller?
The Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller is a new Rolex collection announced on April 1, 2025. Rolex offers it in 36 mm and 40 mm cases and presents versions in white Rolesor, 18 ct Everose gold and 950 platinum. The platinum 40 mm model has an ice-blue dial; the 36 mm Everose version includes diamond details. These are details from Rolex’s launch announcement, not an exhaustive list of possible configurations. Rolex’s official release describes the watch as combining a new movement with an integrated bracelet design.
Calibre 7135 and the Dynapulse escapement
Rolex says the Land-Dweller is powered by self-winding calibre 7135, which displays hours, minutes, seconds and the date. The movement beats at 5 Hz and has an approximately 66-hour power reserve, according to the manufacturer. Rolex’s description of the Dynapulse escapement emphasizes rolling interactions in place of the sliding interactions used in a conventional Swiss lever escapement. These are manufacturer specifications and design claims, not independent test results.
Rolex reports 32 patent applications and patents associated with the watch, 18 exclusive to the Land-Dweller, including 16 concerning the movement. Those counts are Rolex’s figures in the 2025 release.

Case and Flat Jubilee bracelet
The Oyster case is rated waterproof to 100 metres by Rolex. The brand pairs it with a five-piece-link Flat Jubilee bracelet, describing the flat links and their integration with the case as creating a continuous visual line. The integrated bracelet and the movement are the most distinctive technical and design features identified in the launch announcement.
What did Credor and Cartier reveal?
Credor Locomotive
Credor’s news index dates its announcement, “A new Locomotive inspired by Gérald Genta’s iconic design drives Credor forward,” to February 5, 2025. That makes the Locomotive a relevant companion to the Rolex launch, though the two announcements are separate releases. Credor’s official news page lists the dated item.

Cartier’s 2025 collection highlights
Cartier’s 2025 Watches and Wonders editorial highlights several distinct design directions: the Tank Louis Cartier, Tressage, Panthère creations and the Cartier Privé Tank à Guichets. The editorial is in French, so the model names are retained as Cartier presents them. Cartier’s 2025 editorial says the larger Tank Louis Cartier uses the manufacture automatic calibre 1899 MC. The Tank à Guichets has a jumping-hour and minute-window display and uses hand-wound calibre 9755 MC, according to the same source.
How the Land-Dweller stands apart from these highlights
The releases span different priorities rather than forming a like-for-like product comparison. Rolex foregrounds movement architecture and the integration of case and bracelet; Cartier’s examples include both the Tank’s established form and the Tank à Guichets’ distinctive display; Credor frames the Locomotive through its connection to Gérald Genta’s design. The available official announcements do not establish equivalent specifications across all these watches, so a technical ranking would go beyond what the brands’ cited material supports.
Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 context
Watches and Wonders Geneva ran from April 1 through April 7, 2025. The event foundation’s January 2025 announcement listed 60 exhibiting brands for the 2025 edition and reported 49,000 visitors for the April 2024 edition. The visitor figure refers to 2024, not attendance at the 2025 event. The foundation’s announcement provides the event dates and figures.
