What the Rolex desk clock sold for
Time+Tide reported that the first auction sale of the new Submariner Date desk clock closed on Bezel at US$17,750 after 50 bids. The report described it as the model’s auction debut; it does not establish that this was the first Rolex desk clock of any kind ever sold at auction. No primary Bezel lot record was located to independently verify the result.

The auction result was US$7,480 above the contemporaneous retail figure reported by Time+Tide. Compared with Rolex’s current US catalog price, it is US$6,820 higher by simple subtraction. What reference 909010LN is
Rolex identifies the product as the Submariner Date desk clock, reference 909010LN. Its US specification lists an 80 mm stainless-steel case, a hemispherical case and orientable base, a fixed black Cerachrom 60-minute bezel insert, and scratch-resistant mineral crystal with a Cyclops date lens. The black lacquer dial has a Chromalight display, and the clock includes a secular calendar.

Despite its Submariner styling, Rolex specifies no water resistance and describes the clock as not waterproof. It is a desk clock, not a watch intended for use underwater.
