What is the Rolex Yacht-Master 42 RLX titanium?
Rolex identifies reference 226627 as the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42, with a 42 mm case, an intense black dial and an Oyster bracelet. The distinctive material is Rolex’s RLX titanium. The brand’s exact description is: “RLX titanium is a grade 5 titanium alloy specially selected by Rolex.” Rolex also says the model’s case and bracelet are made in RLX titanium.
Rolex describes titanium as lightweight, mechanically strong and corrosion resistant. It says the alloy’s strength makes it complex to work and has required special production processes; RLX titanium can have polished or satin finishes. These are Rolex’s material descriptions, not independent measurements of this watch’s weight or performance. Rolex’s official video about the model was published on March 26, 2023.
Case, dial and bezel
The Oyster case has a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back and screw-down Triplock winding crown. The front crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire, with a Cyclops lens over the date. Rolex rates the watch waterproof to 100 metres (330 feet).

The bidirectional bezel has a 60-minute graduation and a matt black Cerachrom ceramic insert, with polished raised numerals and graduations. Rolex presents it as a way to time intervals, such as the sailing time between two buoys. That is a timing function, not a claim that the watch replaces dedicated navigation equipment.
Movement and stated accuracy
Rolex specifies calibre 3235, an automatic mechanical movement with approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Rolex lists precision of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing. Both figures are manufacturer specifications; they are not results from independent testing of an individual watch.

The model carries Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer designation. Rolex describes this as official chronometer certification followed by Rolex certification after casing.
Oyster bracelet and adjustment
The RLX titanium Oyster bracelet uses solid three-piece links and an Oysterlock folding safety clasp. Its Easylink comfort extension provides approximately 5 mm of adjustment. Rolex says patented ceramic inserts inside the links are designed to improve flexibility and longevity.

Buying and servicing reference 226627
Rolex says only official Rolex retailers are allowed to sell and maintain its watches, and recommends contacting an official retailer. That is the most direct route to ask about local availability, current regional pricing and service. A product page or published specification does not establish a particular retailer’s inventory or a waiting time.
For a comparison with another watch, check the same practical points: case diameter and fit, case and bracelet materials, bezel type, water resistance, movement and stated power reserve, and price and availability in the same market and at the same time. No like-for-like competitor specifications or independent comparative measurements are established here.
