In a nearly week-long review, Borna Bošnjak found that the Casio Edifice ECB-S100HG-1A wore thinner than its broad case dimensions suggested, but still occupied plenty of wrist space. Its slim, articulated bracelet helped; its pressed clasp disappointed. Phone syncing and the phone finder stood out in use, while he did not spend enough time with the world timer to judge it. That is one reviewer’s experience with one Edifice reference—not a verdict on the whole range.
What wearing it for a week felt like
Bošnjak’s first concern was the watch’s width and lug span. At 46 mm across and 50 mm lug-to-lug, the ECB-S100HG-1A looked likely to feel imposing. Its 9.8 mm thickness was a surprise: the case sat relatively slim for a watch of this footprint, but that did not make it small. Bošnjak described the remaining effect as “dinner-plate syndrome”—a thin watch that still takes up substantial wrist real estate. Time+Tide’s July 2022 account is a personal wear report, not a fit test across different wrist sizes.
The bracelet and clasp
Bošnjak found the female end link and thin, well-articulated bracelet helpful to wearability. The clasp was the trade-off: he was disappointed that it was pressed, and felt a milled clasp would have improved the watch. His comments describe his experience with this bracelet and clasp, not a durability test.
How large is the ECB-S100HG-1A?
Casio’s Middle East and Africa listing gives the case dimensions as 50 × 46 × 9.8 mm and the weight as 138 g. The 50 mm figure is the lug-to-lug length; the 46 mm figure is the width. Those dimensions explain why the modest thickness should not be mistaken for a compact fit. The listing does not establish how the watch will fit a particular wrist. Casio’s official ECB-S100HG-1A listing provides specifications for this exact model.

Which functions stood out in use?
The most useful features in Bošnjak’s account were Bluetooth phone syncing, which he appreciated for accurate time, and the phone-finder function, which he particularly liked. He did not have enough time with the watch to explore whether the world timer would be useful, so his review offers no positive or negative verdict on that feature.
Casio lists automatic time adjustment, world time, stopwatch data transfer, Time & Place logging, phone finder, a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, five daily alarms and double LED illumination. These are manufacturer-listed functions; the list should not be read as Bošnjak having tested each one during his week with the watch.

Who might like this Edifice—and who might not?
Bošnjak thought the watch could suit someone looking for a larger, relatively affordable watch for varied situations, especially someone drawn to its motorsport connection. His own preference was for a case under 42 mm before he would be fully convinced, though he remained open to the idea. That is his sizing preference, not a universal wrist-size threshold.

- CASIO EDIFICE presents a EFK-110D timepiece, the sports car enthusiast’s favorite. This automatic, three-hand beauty brings sophisticated, refined style to your wrist.
- The sporty, yet refined watch design features a slim, compact case measuring just 38mm and a richly textured dial crafted with a special electroforming technique. High-transparency, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal delivers clear visibility, while raised indexes as well as a sharp bezel and case complete the dynamic, yet sophisticated design.
- The automatic movement, crafted in Japan, offers a power reserve of around 42 hours. With a see-through case back that reveals the movement’s meticulous motion, you will truly understand the unique appeal of a mechanical watch.
- Water resistance up to 10 bar leaves you free to focus on more exciting things, whether outdoor activities, watersports, or just enjoying your day-to-day.
- Consider it if: you want a broad, relatively slim watch, like the motorsport-inspired design, and value the listed solar and smartphone functions.
- Look closely at fit if: a 46 mm width or 50 mm lug-to-lug span may feel too large. The thin profile moderates thickness, not the watch’s footprint.
- Weigh the bracelet trade-off: the reviewer liked its articulation but found the pressed clasp a letdown.
Keep the reference number in view
“Casio Edifice” covers multiple watches, so this week-long experience should not be applied to the whole collection. Compare exact references by case width, lug-to-lug length, thickness, weight, bracelet or strap, clasp, crystal, power source, water resistance and smartphone functions. For example, Casio’s ECB-2300 collection page describes a different family with carbon-fiber-reinforced resin and metal components, Tough Solar, Bluetooth and other functions; those construction details and features should not be transferred to the ECB-S100HG-1A.
