The Romain Gauthier Insight Micro-Rotor is a time-only automatic with hours, minutes and small seconds. Its display-focused movement puts a bidirectional micro-rotor and its winding system on view; the manufacturer lists an 80-hour power reserve. A current price is not published on the surfaced official model pages: buyers are directed to request a quote for a specific reference.
What makes the Insight Micro-Rotor different?
The Insight is designed to make its automatic winding mechanism part of the view, rather than hide it behind a conventional movement layout. Romain Gauthier describes its calibre as developed from the ground up. A circular cut-out in the mainplate frames the rotor, while the display remains deliberately simple: hours, minutes and small seconds. The crown is positioned at 2 o’clock. The manufacturer’s calibre page describes the rotor on that page as 18k solid gold and bidirectional.
In the manufacturer’s description, the rotor winds two mainspring barrels connected in series. A reversing gear keeps winding effective whichever way the rotor turns. The result is an 80-hour power reserve according to the calibre page.

The manufacturer also describes hand-created and polished bevels, frosting, snailing, straight-graining, circular-graining and polished jewel countersinks. It notes that decoration can vary slightly by edition.

Case dimensions and water resistance
Official model pages surfaced for the range list a 39.5 mm case diameter, 12.9 mm thickness and water resistance of 50 m / 5 atm. The black titanium models list a 48.8 mm lug-to-lug measurement. These figures belong to the surfaced models, not necessarily every configuration; check the specifications for the exact reference before ordering. The official Insight collection page shows the range and its model-specific details.
Variants and configuration differences
The surfaced official collection includes black titanium with white enamel, black titanium in a skeletonized configuration, red gold, and natural titanium with blue enamel. Case material, dial treatment, skeletonization, strap and buckle vary by reference. The skeletonized black titanium model is shown with a rubber strap and an ADLC titanium pin buckle; those details should not be generalized to other versions.

There is also a rotor-specification difference between official pages: the collection description refers to a 22k gold bidirectional micro-rotor, while the calibre page specifies 18k gold. Treat the alloy as reference- or page-specific and confirm it with the brand for the watch being quoted, rather than assuming one specification covers the entire collection. The surfaced pages do not establish that every variant is continuously available.

The figures differ because they refer to different dates, references and finishes. In particular, the Squelette prices concern separate skeletonized configurations, not the standard model.

- The exact reference and case material, plus whether the watch is standard or skeletonized.
- The dial finish, strap and buckle supplied with that reference.
- The rotor alloy and jewel count for the specific configuration, since the published pages differ.
