Romain Jerome introduced the Batman-DNA in 2014 to mark Batman’s 75th anniversary. The limited-edition watch, reference RJ.T.AU.WB.001.01, was reported as a 75-piece run and was described at the time as the brand’s first superhero watch.
Why the Batman-DNA debuted in 2014
The watch was presented in connection with the 75th anniversary of Batman’s first comic-book appearance. Montres de Luxe places the introduction in autumn 2014 and reports that a selection of exclusive anniversary products became available at Colette from October 27. The collaboration involved Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Montres de Luxe and SJX Watches both framed the watch as an anniversary tribute; SJX called it Romain Jerome’s first superhero watch.
How to identify the debut model
The Batman-DNA debut is identified by reference RJ.T.AU.WB.001.01. Contemporary coverage reports a limited edition of 75 pieces. That reference matters because the later Romain Jerome Skylab Batman is a separate model with a different reference and specifications; its design and movement details should not be attributed to the Batman-DNA. Design details: Batman on the dial and case back
The black PVD-coated steel case has a faceted bezel. Its matte-black dial uses a Batman applique and luminous treatment described in coverage as emitting blue light; SJX specifically characterized it as a glow-in-the-dark Batman signal dial. Reports also describe a Batman medallion engraved on the case back. The visual concept makes the character the watch’s focal point rather than treating the anniversary as a discreet marking. What the original reported prices mean

For someone evaluating a listing, matching the reference and checking the stated edition, condition, provenance, box, and papers are more useful than relying on the Batman name alone. The historical coverage establishes the model’s reported details, but does not verify current inventory or the authenticity of any particular watch.
