The Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is a refresh, not a new hardware generation. Its clear advantages over the 2024 Ultra are 64GB of storage rather than 32GB and the addition of Titanium Blue. Samsung’s published specifications otherwise show the same 2GB memory, 590mAh battery, 47mm body and core Ultra features.
The 2025 model suits buyers who will use the extra storage or want Titanium Blue, especially if its price is close to the older model. 1. The real upgrade: 64GB instead of 32GB
The 2025 refresh doubles nominal storage from 32GB to 64GB. Samsung Korea lists 50.0GB available on its 2025 specification page. The extra capacity may help if you store music, maps or apps locally, but Samsung does not publish a study showing how much storage typical owners need.

Storage does not establish a performance upgrade. Samsung lists 2GB memory for both models and comparison information indicates the same five-core 3nm processor class. Treat 64GB as additional capacity, not proof that the watch is faster.
2. Titanium Blue is new, but the case is not
Titanium Blue is the visible color addition associated with the 2025 refresh. Samsung Korea lists Titanium Blue, Gray, White and Silver for the 2025 model; color selection can vary by market. Choose the refresh for the finish if you prefer it, not because a new case design or lighter body has been established.
Samsung’s 2025 specifications list a 47.4 × 47.1 × 12.1mm body and 60.5g weight. Samsung’s records support continuity in the 47mm, 60.5g body rather than a material physical redesign.
What has not materially changed
Samsung’s published information does not establish a new hardware generation. The available evidence supports these practical conclusions:
- Display and GPS: Samsung comparison material lists up to 3,000-nit brightness and L1+L5 dual-frequency GPS; no 2025-only improvement is established.
- Processor and memory: the comparison shows a five-core 3nm platform and 2GB memory, with no verified performance increase.
- Battery: both are listed with 590mAh capacity.
- Durability: Samsung comparison information lists 10ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H for the Ultra; no tougher 2025 rating is established.
- Body: Samsung’s documentation supports a 47mm, 60.5g design, not a material size or weight change.

Battery expectations
Samsung’s 2025 specifications give conditional battery-life estimates, including up to 60 hours with always-on display enabled and up to 80 hours with it disabled. These are manufacturer estimates, not independent test results. Both models have a listed 590mAh battery, so the evidence does not establish a capacity advantage for the 2025 version.

Which Galaxy Watch Ultra should you buy?
Choose Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) if:
- You will use the 64GB storage capacity.
- You specifically want Titanium Blue.
- The actual price is close enough to the 2024 model that the added storage or color is worth it to you.
Choose Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) if:
- 32GB is sufficient for your use.
- It is meaningfully cheaper than a comparable 2025 model.
- You have confirmed its condition, warranty, included items and regional LTE compatibility.
Keep your original Ultra if:
- You do not run short of storage and do not care about Titanium Blue.
- You were considering upgrading for battery capacity, body size, weight, processor generation or One UI 8 Watch alone.
For current owners, the evidence does not support upgrading for a major hardware leap. The case for switching is strongest if 32GB has become limiting or you specifically want the new finish.

A safe shopping checklist
Listings may use a generic title such as Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 47mm LTE. A headline alone does not confirm storage or regional compatibility.
- Confirm storage. Check whether the watch is the original 32GB model or the 2025 64GB refresh.
- Confirm the regional model. Check LTE and carrier compatibility in the country where you will use it.
- Check condition and warranty. This matters particularly for discounted, refurbished or second-hand watches.

Samsung’s 2026 First Quarter Interim Report identifies the Galaxy Watch Ultra launch timing as July 2024. Samsung announced the 2025 refresh in July 2025 alongside the Galaxy Watch8 series. A retailer’s “new” label or local sale date does not by itself establish which storage configuration is being sold; check the specifications.
Verdict
The Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is best understood as the Ultra with twice the nominal storage and a new Titanium Blue option. Buy it for 64GB or the finish if the actual price makes sense. Otherwise, the 2024 model can be the better value when discounted and 32GB is enough; do not pay extra expecting a verified leap in speed, battery capacity, size, GPS or exclusive software.
