1. Turn off Always On Display
Always On Display keeps the watch face visible between interactions, but Samsung identifies it as a setting to review when managing battery drain. Turn it off if persistent visibility matters less to you than runtime.
- Open Settings on the watch.
- Tap Display.
- Turn Always On Display off.

2. Reduce brightness and screen activity
Review display settings and lower brightness to a comfortable level. A shorter screen timeout can also reduce how long the display stays active after you interact with the watch. Menu labels and available controls can vary by software version and region, so use the display options available on your device.
3. Limit notification alerts and screen wakes
Keep the alerts you need on your wrist and disable low-priority app notifications in the Galaxy Wearable app. Where available, also turn off the option that wakes the screen when a notification arrives. Fewer alerts can mean fewer screen activations, but Samsung does not specify a fixed battery saving.
- Open Galaxy Wearable on your phone.
- Open the watch’s notification settings.
- Disable alerts you do not need on your wrist and review the screen-wake option, if available.
Samsung Australia documents an “Advanced notification settings” path that includes “Turn on Screen”; the exact path may differ by region or software version.
4. Reduce heart-rate and stress measurement frequency
Continuous readings provide more frequent information. If you do not need continuous monitoring, Samsung’s US guidance recommends considering heart-rate and stress checks every 10 minutes or manual measurement. Less frequent or manual checks mean less frequent monitoring; they are not equivalent to continuous readings.

5. Review optional sleep health tracking
Samsung includes sleep-related settings among the areas to review when troubleshooting battery drain. Disable optional sleep health features you do not use, but do not turn off information you rely on. Changing a tracking setting changes what the watch records.
6. Turn off Wi-Fi or mobile network when you do not need it
Review wireless settings and turn off Wi-Fi when it is not needed. Mobile-network controls apply only to LTE models. Disabling connectivity can affect functions that depend on it, so keep the connections you need for your routine.

7. Disable Bixby voice wake-up if you do not use it
If you do not use hands-free voice activation, turn off Bixby voice wake-up in the available Bixby or voice settings. You will lose voice-triggered activation, so leave it on if you rely on that feature. The exact setting location may vary by software version.
8. Use Power saving when reduced functionality is acceptable
Power saving can reduce consumption by limiting features, background activity, and wireless connections. Samsung’s US guidance says the display becomes grayscale and most functions are turned off, while calls, messages, and Bluetooth notifications are retained. The available behavior may vary by configuration.
- Open Settings on the watch.
- Open the battery settings.
- Turn on Power saving.
Use it when extending runtime matters more than the features it limits. It is not a guaranteed way to add a particular number of hours.
9. Install available software updates
Samsung includes software updates in its battery troubleshooting guidance. Updating is a troubleshooting step, not a guarantee that battery life will improve.

10. Give a new watch time to finish setup
A new Galaxy Watch may use more battery while apps install, the device is set up, and other initial processes run. Samsung advises considering those processes before judging typical battery drain. It does not specify a universal number of hours or days for this to settle.

Does the 44 mm Galaxy Watch6 last longer because it has a larger battery?
Samsung lists a 300 mAh battery for the 40 mm Watch6 and a 425 mAh battery for the 44 mm model. Capacity alone does not establish how long a particular watch will last.
