The $249.99 Bluetooth price is a fair standard price—not necessarily a limited-time sale—because Samsung’s June 2026 U.S. MSRP sheet lists it as the current MSRP. Is $249.99 a genuine discount?
It is $50 below the Watch7 40mm’s original $299.99 U.S. launch price, which was reported when the watch launched in July 2024. However, Samsung’s June 2026 price sheet now identifies $249.99 as the Bluetooth model’s MSRP. Unless a retailer shows a higher crossed-out price or labels the offer as temporary, call it the current standard price or a permanent price reduction, not a special sale.
As a practical buying guide, $249.99 is fair, $199–$229 is a worthwhile sale, and $169–$199 is a strong price for a new unit from a reputable seller. Prices below $169 deserve careful checking for refurbished condition, marketplace fulfillment, missing accessories, or a weak return policy. These are decision thresholds, not a record of verified market prices.
Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi versus LTE
The Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi model is the better value for people who normally carry a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone. It can use the phone for connectivity and avoids a cellular activation or monthly watch plan.

The LTE model can call, message, stream, and use data away from the phone, but it requires compatible carrier service and may add activation fees, taxes, and a recurring monthly charge. A $299.99 LTE watch can cost more than a cheaper Bluetooth model over 12 or 24 months:
- 12-month ownership: $299.99 plus 12 months of cellular service and any activation fees.
- 24-month ownership: $299.99 plus 24 months of cellular service and any activation fees.
Do not treat an LTE discount as a bargain until you calculate the watch price and the required service together. Check Samsung’s LTE product page for the displayed configuration and offer terms.
What the 40mm Watch7 offers
- 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 432 × 432 resolution
- 300mAh battery
- Exynos W1000 processor
- 2GB RAM and 32GB storage
- Approximately 40.4 × 40.4 × 9.7mm and 28.8g
- Green and Cream color options
- Heart-rate tracking, sleep tracking, and sleep-apnea-related features
- Calls, texts, suggested replies, music and podcast playback, and remote camera control with compatible Galaxy phones
Battery endurance depends on display settings, LTE, GPS, workouts, sleep tracking, notifications, and battery age. The 300mAh battery is a meaningful compromise for the smaller case, so avoid assuming the 40mm and 44mm versions last equally long. Health functions are wellness and monitoring tools—not medical diagnoses—and availability can depend on region, compatible hardware, software, account setup, and regulatory approval. Review the published hardware specifications.

Is 40mm the right size?
Choose the 40mm for a lighter, less bulky watch or a smaller wrist. Choose the 44mm if a larger display and greater battery capacity matter more than compactness. The 44mm model has a 1.5-inch display and a 425mAh battery; Samsung’s June 2026 MSRP sheet lists it at $279.99 Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi and $329.99 LTE.

If the 44mm price is only slightly higher, its larger screen and battery may justify the difference for maps, notifications, workouts, and frequent use.
Galaxy Watch7 versus the newer Watch8
Samsung’s June 2026 MSRP sheet lists the Galaxy Watch8 40mm at $349.99 Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi and $399.99 LTE. That places the Watch7 Bluetooth model about $100 below the newer Bluetooth model at their listed prices.

Buy the Watch7 when you can get the Bluetooth version at $249.99—or preferably below $229—and want a compact Samsung watch at the lowest sensible cost. Consider the Watch8 when a trade-in makes the effective price gap small, or when newer hardware, a longer remaining support life, or newer battery and software features are worth paying for. A Watch7 that is available only as open-box or refurbished at nearly Watch8 pricing is a weak value.

Samsung’s live page displays messaging for up to $250 in instant trade-in credit and a $50 instant credit without trade-in. That visible messaging appears alongside newer Galaxy Watch upgrade prompts; it should not be treated as a confirmed Watch7 40mm offer until the exact model, connectivity version, and cart show it.

Trade-in value depends on the old device, model, condition, promotion, and deadline. A locked, financed, activation-locked, or badly damaged device may receive less or be rejected. Credits may be instant, delayed, or applied as bill credits, and tax may be calculated before or after the credit. Compare the final effective price, not the headline “up to” amount.

Open-box buying checklist
Best Buy lists open-box Watch7 inventory and references its normal return and exchange protections. View the open-box listing.
Before buying, confirm:
- Condition grade and visible screen or sensor damage
- Original charger and the correct band are included
- Battery behavior during the return period
- Whether the watch is carrier-locked or still paired to another account
- Seller identity, warranty coverage, and return deadline
- Whether it is retailer stock or a marketplace listing
An open-box unit is worthwhile only when the discount compensates for battery age and reduced certainty about condition.
How to verify an offer
- Open the exact 40mm product page.
- Confirm 40mm, color, and Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi or LTE—not a similarly titled 44mm listing.
- Check the seller, condition, included band, and displayed price.
- Add the item to the cart and test any Samsung account, trade-in, student, membership, promo-code, or carrier requirements.
- Record taxes, shipping, activation fees, required service, and the final effective price.
- Read the return and warranty terms before payment.
Also verify phone compatibility. The Watch7 is most naturally suited to Samsung Galaxy phones; some health and AI-related functions may be limited on other Android phones. LTE requires carrier compatibility and an eligible plan. iPhone buyers should not assume equivalent support and should generally consider Apple Watch options instead. Use Samsung’s Bluetooth buying page and its current support documentation for exact compatibility details.

Verdict
Buy the Galaxy Watch7 40mm Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi at $249.99 if you want a compact Samsung smartwatch and usually keep your phone nearby. Wait for a promotion or negotiate harder if the Bluetooth price is above $249.99; $199–$229 is a more compelling target. Choose LTE only when you will regularly leave the phone behind and the carrier’s 12- or 24-month cost still makes sense. If trade-in reduces a newer Watch8 to a small premium, compare that effective price before committing to older Watch7 stock.
