The Galaxy Watch8 Classic is a premium Samsung smartwatch for Android users who want a physical rotating bezel and a more traditional watch presence. Its cushion-shaped stainless-steel case borrows visual cues from the Galaxy Watch Ultra, while the bezel, Quick Button, bright display, and One UI 8 Watch make it distinctive to use.
It is not an Ultra substitute: the Classic is substantial, its 1.34-inch display can look small inside the case, and reviewers found battery life varied with settings and activity. It is best suited to buyers who specifically value the bezel, Samsung’s health features, and the dressed-up design.
The short version
The Galaxy Watch8 Classic combines a cushion-shaped case with the physical rotating bezel that makes Classic models enjoyable to operate. The bezel offers tactile navigation through menus and tiles, while the Quick Button can be configured for selected functions such as workout tracking. Samsung’s health and wellness toolkit adds to its appeal for Android users.
The compromises are its single, substantial 46mm size, a display that looks relatively small against the case, and battery endurance that depends on settings and use. The Classic is the dressier, more tactile alternative in Samsung’s lineup, while Samsung positions the Galaxy Watch Ultra as the more durable model with the lineup’s longest battery life.

Our verdict: consider the Galaxy Watch8 Classic if you use an Android phone and specifically want a rotating bezel, physical controls, and Samsung’s health features. Compare the standard Galaxy Watch8 if you prefer a slimmer everyday design, or the Galaxy Watch Ultra if outdoor durability and longer battery positioning matter more.

Design: the Classic returns in a more modern case
The Watch8 Classic does not simply recreate the round case of an older Galaxy Watch Classic. Samsung uses a cushion or rounded-square case shape associated with the Galaxy Watch Ultra, while retaining a circular display and rotating bezel. The result combines a traditional control with a more modern, substantial silhouette.
That shape may not suit everyone. The watch is available in one 46mm size, and Gadgets 360 found it substantial; buyers with thinner wrists may find it chunky. SamMobile also noted that the included strap could be too long for some wrists. Samsung lists the watch at 63.5 g.
The bezel is the defining interaction: rotate it to navigate menus and tiles without covering the display with a finger. It can be especially convenient when you want physical feedback rather than repeated swipes.

Quick Button and Dynamic Lug System
The Quick Button adds another physical control. SamMobile reports that it can be configured to launch workout tracking or selected functions. Alongside the bezel, it gives the watch a more tactile control scheme.
The band attaches through Samsung’s Dynamic Lug system. Because this is a specific attachment design, do not assume a standard band from an older Galaxy Watch will fit. When replacing the strap, choose a band explicitly confirmed for the 46mm Galaxy Watch8 Classic and its Dynamic Lug system.
Display: bright, but small in the case
Gadgets 360 reports a 1.34-inch Super AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and a 438 × 438 resolution. SamMobile also describes a 3,000-nit panel and found it legible in direct sunlight.
The display’s size is the caveat. Reviewers note that it can look small within the substantial case, and Samsung does not offer a larger Classic display size. The shared design cues with the Ultra do not mean the two watches have the same screen area.
Design and durability compared with the Ultra
The Classic’s cushion-shaped case connects its look to the Galaxy Watch Ultra, but the models have different roles. Samsung describes the Ultra as its most durable Galaxy Watch and says it has the lineup’s longest battery life. The Classic’s appeal is its physical bezel and dressier watch character; buyers focused on outdoor durability should compare the Ultra’s current specifications and guidance directly.

Performance and One UI 8 Watch
The Watch8 series runs Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch. Samsung highlights Multi-Info Tiles for quick access to items such as health metrics, weather, and events. The rotating bezel gives users a physical way to move through menus and tiles.
Phone compatibility and feature availability can vary. Samsung says Wear OS Powered by Samsung works with phones running Android 12 or later with more than 1.5GB of memory, while warning that compatibility may vary by market, carrier, or device brand. Some advanced functions are limited to Samsung phones, so confirm support for the features you need before buying.

The Watch8 Classic’s health and fitness toolkit includes features reported by reviewers such as ECG, heart-rate and blood-oxygen tracking, VO₂ Max estimates, sleep tracking, and body-composition analysis. Newer wellness tools include Running Coach, Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, and Vascular Load.
Advanced features may depend on phone, market, or regulatory requirements. Check the requirements for ECG and other functions where you live rather than assuming they are available on every phone or in every country.
What independent testing found
SamMobile reported heart-rate readings close to an Apple Watch Series 9 during its walking and jogging tests. In that reviewer’s testing, GPS sometimes cut corners or overestimated distances, and indoor weightlifting results were less accurate in its comparison. These are reviewer observations, not clinical findings or guarantees about every user’s results.

Battery life and charging
The Watch8 Classic has a 445mAh battery, and actual endurance depends on settings and activity. In Gadgets 360’s usage test, it lasted about 40 hours with always-on display off and 32 hours with it on. SamMobile reported around a day and a half with always-on display off under its stated use, which included health tracking and workout recording.
These are reviewer results, not guaranteed runtimes. Always-on display, workout tracking, and other usage can change battery life. The broad takeaway is that the battery is suited to daily use, but it is not a reason to choose the Classic over a model positioned for longer endurance.
SamMobile reported that a full charge took around two hours with the bundled 10W USB-C charger. Treat that as a result from its test rather than a universal charging time.
Connectivity and phone compatibility
Samsung’s compatibility note says Wear OS Powered by Samsung works with phones running Android 12 or later with more than 1.5GB of memory. Compatibility can vary by market, carrier, or device brand, and some advanced features are limited to Samsung phones.
Do not assume every health or software feature will work the same way on every compatible Android device. Check Samsung’s current requirements for the specific functions you plan to use. The research reviewed for this article does not establish iPhone compatibility, so iPhone owners should verify current official support before considering the watch.

Galaxy Watch8 Classic price and value
Current local prices and availability were not verified in the research. Gadgets 360 reported India launch prices of Rs. 46,999 for Bluetooth and Rs. 50,999 for LTE; these are historical launch prices, not current prices. Check Samsung or a local retailer for the current price, configuration, and availability in your market.
The Classic’s value is primarily its physical design and controls: the rotating bezel, Quick Button, stainless-steel case, and Samsung health features. If those details are what you want, they distinguish it from a simpler touchscreen smartwatch. If they are not important to you, compare the standard Galaxy Watch8’s slimmer everyday design and the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s outdoor-focused positioning.
Galaxy Watch8 Classic vs. the alternatives
| Choose this | Why it may fit | What to consider |

| Galaxy Watch8 Classic | Physical rotating bezel, Quick Button, and a substantial cushion-shaped case | One 46mm size; display can look small against the case; battery results vary with use |
| Standard Galaxy Watch8 | Slimmer everyday-wellness design in the same broader Samsung watch generation | Does not have the Classic’s physical rotating bezel and case identity |
| Galaxy Watch Ultra | Samsung’s more durable model, positioned with the lineup’s longest battery life | Compare its design and current specifications against the Classic’s bezel-led appeal |
