The Fitbit Luxe is a slim, jewelry-inspired fitness tracker whose small size is both its main appeal and its biggest drawback. Its AMOLED screen looks crisp and colorful, but the compact display makes workout stats and notifications harder to read; it also relies on a nearby phone for outdoor GPS.
Consider the Luxe if you want a discreet tracker for everyday activity and sleep, and can verify a used or older unit’s condition, battery behavior, accessories, and return terms. Google lists battery life of up to five days, but use and charge cycles affect real-world runtime.

Design and comfort
The Luxe’s narrow body, stainless-steel housing, and interchangeable bands give it a more jewelry-like look than a conventional square smartwatch. Fitbit introduced it in April 2021 with silicone and other accessory options, including woven, leather, stainless-steel mesh, and a gorjana Parker Link bracelet. The announcement does not establish that those accessories remain available today.
In Engadget’s 2021 hands-on review, Cherlynn Low found the small tracker unobtrusive during activities such as typing and doing a handstand. That is a dated reviewer observation, not new testing, but it illustrates the Luxe’s core appeal: a small footprint that is easy to wear throughout the day.

Check the band size before buying. Fitbit’s Luxe manual gives wrist-circumference ranges of 5.5–7.1 inches (140–180 mm) for small and 7.1–8.7 inches (180–220 mm) for large; accessory bands may vary slightly. The manual also notes that stainless steel and anodized aluminum can contain traces of nickel. People with nickel sensitivity should consult the manual and consider their own sensitivity.
If you already own the tracker and want to change its look, a Fitbit Luxe replacement band may be a more practical purchase than a costly upgrade to an aging device. Confirm Luxe compatibility and attachment fit in the listing, and do not assume a fashion band is suitable for swimming.
The display is attractive but difficult for detailed use
The AMOLED touchscreen gives the Luxe a colorful, polished appearance. Engadget measured the panel at 0.76 inches, with a resolution of 124 × 206 pixels, and described it as crisp, bright, and colorful. The same review found workout stats difficult to read because of the small display and thick bezel.
The Luxe has no physical buttons; you interact with it using taps and swipes. Engadget also reported that reading notifications could be tedious. The small screen is fine for brief checks, but less convenient for detailed stats, longer messages, and controls that require careful interaction.

Health, activity, and sleep features
Fitbit’s 2021 launch materials described continuous heart-rate tracking, sleep tracking and Sleep Score, stress-management tools, Active Zone Minutes, guided breathing, and a silent Smart Wake alarm. The Luxe manual identifies an optical heart-rate tracker and accelerometer. Launch-era materials also described deeper dashboard metrics and Premium content, but feature availability can depend on region, account, and service terms. Do not assume every feature or trial is a current, universal entitlement.
The Luxe can be used for everyday activity and sleep tracking, but it is a consumer wellness tracker rather than a medical device. Treat its readings and scores as estimates for noticing patterns, not as clinical measurements or diagnoses.
The compact design may be especially appealing to people who prefer wearing a small tracker overnight. Sleep tracking and Sleep Score were part of Fitbit’s launch description, but any sleep stage or score should be treated as an estimate rather than definitive evidence about sleep health.
GPS and exercise
The Luxe does not have onboard GPS. Engadget’s review says it connects to a phone to map outdoor runs, and Fitbit’s manual includes phone GPS troubleshooting during exercise. Carry a compatible phone if you want outdoor route mapping; the Luxe is not a standalone GPS tracker.
That phone dependence is a deciding tradeoff. If you want to leave your phone at home while recording an outdoor route, choose a device with onboard GPS instead. This research does not establish a current like-for-like competitor recommendation.

Water resistance and care
Fitbit’s Luxe manual rates the device as water resistant up to 50 meters. This is the manufacturer’s rating, not a guarantee that an older, worn, or damaged unit remains water resistant. Follow Fitbit’s care guidance and account for the device’s condition when buying used.
Fitbit’s launch announcement listed silicone, woven, Horween leather double-wrap, stainless-steel mesh, and gorjana Parker Link accessories. Those options do not establish current availability or suitability for water exposure. Check the care instructions for the specific band you use.

Battery life and charging
Google’s current Health Help Center lists the Luxe at up to five days of battery life, or up to two days with always-on display enabled. Google cautions that runtime depends on settings and use and that devices may need charging more often after several hundred charge cycles.
Engadget’s reviewer reported a week of use in their particular test, with workouts every other day and no sleep wear most nights. That is one reviewer’s result under a specific setup, not a guaranteed benchmark or an indication of a used unit’s battery health.
Because the Luxe launched in 2021, battery behavior is particularly worth checking on used or older stock. A seller’s claim that a unit “works” does not establish how long it holds a charge. A Fitbit Luxe charging cable may be a useful accessory if one is missing, but verify that a listing is explicitly compatible with Luxe; individual cable listings have not been verified here.

Is the Fitbit Luxe worth buying?
The Luxe makes the most sense for someone who values a small, jewelry-inspired tracker and accepts the screen and phone-GPS tradeoffs. It is a less suitable choice if you want large, easy-to-read workout stats or route tracking without carrying a phone.
