Why choose the Watch Ultra?
The 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra has a 47mm Grade 4 titanium case and an outdoor-focused design. Samsung lists its weight as 60.5g. Case size and weight do not establish how comfortable either watch will feel on your wrist; if fit matters, try them on in person when possible.
Battery life: compare the claims carefully
Samsung lists typical battery capacities of 445mAh for the Watch8 Classic and 590mAh for the Ultra. Its comparison gives the Ultra a claim of up to 60 hours with always-on display enabled. Samsung says its battery-life figures are based on internal lab tests for typical-use scenarios; this is not an independent real-world test or a guarantee of your runtime.

The cited sources do not provide a comparable Watch8 Classic runtime figure. Do not infer a specific number of hours or days for either watch from capacity alone. Settings and usage affect how long a watch lasts.
Water resistance and durability
Samsung’s comparison lists the Watch8 Classic at up to 50m, with IP68 and MIL-STD-810H ratings. It lists the Ultra at up to 100m, also with IP68 and MIL-STD-810H. Price and buying caveat
