The Seiko 5 Sports Brian May Limited Edition SRPH80K1 launched in 2022 with a suggested retail price of €610 in Germany. That is a historical launch price, not a current global value: seller listings vary by country and stock status. The watch is the second Seiko 5 Sports collaboration with Queen guitarist Brian May, and Seiko limited it to 12,500 pieces worldwide.
What is the Seiko SRPH80K1?
SRPH80K1 is a Seiko 5 Sports automatic watch created with Brian May. Seiko also calls it “Red Special II,” referencing the guitarist’s famous Red Special guitar. Its gold-accented design draws on that instrument and on May’s Gold Series solo albums. The case back is signed and marked “LIMITED EDITION,” with an individual serial number in the 00001/12500 to 12500/12500 sequence, according to Seiko’s German announcement.
Seiko announced a worldwide edition of 12,500 pieces. The model is a limited collaboration, but that number alone does not establish what an individual example will sell for today.
SRPH80K1 price: launch price versus current listings
Seiko Germany listed a suggested retail price of €610 when sales began in March 2022. Sales were planned through Seiko boutiques, its online boutique and selected specialist retailers. This figure is useful historical context, not a current recommended or universal price.

These are seller asking prices, not verified transaction prices or a representative market valuation. The currencies cannot be compared directly without accounting for exchange rates on the relevant date, shipping, taxes, import duties, warranty and seller terms. If you are judging an individual watch’s value, compare listings in the same currency and account for condition, confirmed stock, seller identity, warranty, return policy and whether the original presentation box and sixpence replica are included.
Movement and everyday specifications
The SRPH80K1 uses Seiko’s 4R36 automatic movement. Seiko lists automatic winding, manual winding, day/date display and a stop-seconds function. The German specification gives a power reserve of more than 41 hours, while the Malaysia product page describes it as approximately 41 hours. Both regional pages list 24 jewels.

Regional specifications differ slightly in case dimensions and material wording, so the figures above are kept with their respective Seiko market pages rather than combined into one definitive measurement. Design details and what comes in the box
Seiko pairs the watch’s gold accents with the Red Special inspiration. The presentation box is modeled on a guitar case and includes a replica of the “lucky sixpence” Brian May uses instead of a guitar pick. Seiko Thailand describes these included items on its official product announcement.
For a pre-owned example, box and coin are useful completeness checks, alongside the numbered case back and the watch’s overall condition. Seiko Thailand also says a proportion of sales proceeds would be donated to The Mercury Phoenix Trust; the page does not specify a percentage or amount.
Quick Recap
How to assess a listing
- Confirm the reference is SRPH80K1 and inspect clear images of the watch and numbered case back.
- Ask whether the guitar-case-inspired presentation box and replica sixpence are included, especially for a pre-owned watch.
- Check whether the stated price is for an item actually in stock, and confirm the seller, warranty, return terms and condition.
- Compare total cost, including shipping, taxes and import charges, rather than comparing currency figures at face value.
- Treat a seller’s asking price as an offer, not proof of the amount buyers have paid.
