Seiko announced the numbered edition in 2022, with availability from March that year; it is a historical launch, not a current-stock announcement. It is distinct from the earlier red-and-black SRPE83K1.
What is the Seiko Brian May watch model number?
The gold-colored watch is reference SRPH80K1. Seiko described it as its second Seiko 5 Sports collaboration with May. Its design combines two inspirations: May’s Red Special guitar and the Gold Series reissues of his solo albums.
The official Seiko product page says May requested the gold-colored design. The dial’s pressed pattern is intended to evoke the Red Special’s wood texture, glossy finish, and graduated color, while vertical stripes on the nylon strap recall guitar strings.
What makes the SRPH80K1 limited edition different?
Gold design and numbered case back
The case back bears May’s signature, the words “LIMITED EDITION,” and an individual number in a sequence from 00001/12500 to 12500/12500. Seiko announced a worldwide edition of 12,500 watches in 2022.

Guitar-case presentation and sixpence replica
Seiko says the presentation box is modeled after a guitar case. It includes a replica of May’s “lucky sixpence” coin, which he uses in place of a guitar pick. Those are the announced presentation items; a particular retailer’s listing should be checked to confirm what it includes.
Caliber, dimensions, and launch price
Seiko lists caliber 4R36 on the product page. In its German-market announcement of 17 February 2022, Seiko specified a 43.0 mm diameter, 13.0 mm height, 10-bar water resistance, and gold-plated stainless-steel case. That release gave a recommended price of €610 for its market and period; it is not a current or universal price.

Seiko said the SRPH80K1 would be available from March 2022. The announcement does not establish present availability or a current market price.
How does SRPH80K1 differ from the first Brian May Seiko?
The first collaboration was reference SRPE83K1, announced in 2020. It has a red-and-black Red Special-inspired design and a worldwide edition size of 9,000. The SRPH80K1 followed in 2022 with a gold-colored design and 12,500 numbered watches.

The measurements and prices above belong to different models and release contexts. They should not be treated as a direct comparison of current offers. Seiko’s 2020 announcement also quoted May discussing the earlier SRPE83K1, not the SRPH80K1.

The company described the trust as founded by May, Roger Taylor, and Queen manager Jim Beach in memory of Freddie Mercury, to help fund the worldwide fight against HIV/AIDS. Seiko’s cited product page does not quantify the proportion or report a final donation amount.
