What is the Seiko SRPJ79?
SRPJ79 is Seiko’s reference for this Seiko 5 Sports collaboration watch, also identified as SRPJ79K1. Seiko created it for the 55th broadcast anniversary of Ultraseven, the fictional alien of justice from Nebula M78. The design’s fictional organization, the Ultra Guard, is its central theme.
Seiko says the watch pays homage to the first Seiko 5 Sports design and uses the “official instruments of the Ultra Guard” as its theme. How the Ultra Guard theme appears on the watch
Dial and bezel
The metallic-texture dial and bezel reference the original Seiko 5 Sports design. Seiko says the Ultra Guard colors evoke equipment used by the organization.

Strap and commemorative details
The nylon strap uses colors associated with the Ultra Guard uniform and carries the words “Terrestrial Defense Force.” Seiko also describes Ultraseven’s silhouette on the glass, limited-edition and serial-number markings on the case back, and a special box made from stainless-steel material with the Ultra Guard logo.
Is the SRPJ79 a limited edition?
Yes. Seiko’s official collaboration page states a limited quantity of 3,400 pieces and says the model was available in January 2023. The page does not establish current stock or resale value.

What to check on an SRPJ79 listing
- Reference: Check that the listing identifies the watch as SRPJ79 or SRPJ79K1.
- Condition and seller: Assess the condition and seller information independently; Seiko’s model page cannot authenticate a particular listing.
- Case back: Check for the serial number and limited-edition marking described by Seiko. A feature’s presence alone does not verify authenticity.
- Box: Ask whether the special Ultra Guard-logo box is included. Seiko describes it as part of the model presentation, but that does not establish what a particular used listing contains.
