The Seiko Astron SSH063 is the white-dial model in the 5X53 GPS Solar Dual-Time Sport Titanium series, introduced in 2020. What is the Seiko Astron SSH063?
SSH063 belongs to Seiko’s Astron 5X53 GPS Solar Dual-Time Sport Titanium series announced on March 5, 2020. It is the series’ white-dial version. Seiko describes its case and bracelet as titanium with a super-hard coating; the crystal is dual-curved sapphire with a super-clear coating. The dial has a layered appearance and serves as the solar cell, according to Fratello’s September 2020 review. The reviewer also notes applied indices and LumiBrite. These are descriptions of the model’s appearance, not measurements of visibility or fit.

The two published thickness figures differ by 0.1 mm; each is shown with its source rather than treated as a settled single figure. The case size is substantial on paper, but those dimensions alone do not determine how the watch will sit on an individual wrist.

What the 5X53 GPS Solar movement does
GPS reception lets the watch adjust its time and time zone; this is not continuous GPS tracking. Seiko lists world time across 39 time zones, a dual-time display with AM/PM indication, and time transfer, which swaps the roles of the main dial and sub-dial. The movement also supports high-speed time-zone adjustment, automatic daylight-saving adjustment, reception-result indication, a perpetual calendar correct to February 2100, and power save. These are manufacturer-described functions in Seiko’s 2020 announcement.
Seiko cautions that changes in regional, time-zone, or daylight-saving rules may require manual selection. If GPS time adjustment is not used, the 5X53 manual specifies quartz accuracy of ±15 seconds per month under the conditions stated in the guide; this is a manufacturer specification, not an independent test result.
