Yes: the Credor FUGAKU Tourbillon, reference GBCC999, is Seiko’s first tourbillon watch, and its Caliber 6830 is Seiko’s first tourbillon movement. Seiko announced it in March 2016 as an eight-piece limited edition under the Credor brand, with Japanese sales scheduled for May 13, 2016. The “first” is a milestone within Seiko’s own history. It is not a claim that this was the first tourbillon watch anywhere.

What “first-ever Seiko tourbillon” actually means

Seiko’s 2016 announcement introduced the watch, and the company’s heritage page and Credor’s history page place it as the brand’s first tourbillon. The official model name is styled “FUGAKU”; “Fugaku” is the same watch in ordinary spelling.

Caliber 6830: the movement

Seiko describes Caliber 6830 as based on its ultra-thin Caliber 68 family. Its published specifications:

  • Manually wound, approximately 37 hours of power reserve
  • 21,600 vibrations per hour (six beats per second)
  • 22 jewels and 153 parts
  • Mean daily rate of −10 to +15 seconds
  • Depth 3.98 mm and diameter 25.6 mm, per Seiko’s heritage page (no publication year stated)

These are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. Credor’s July 2025 Goldfeather tourbillon release calls Caliber 6850 the successor to Caliber 6830, which gives the movement’s lineage. It does not make the Goldfeather a direct replacement for FUGAKU.

Price and availability today

The ¥50,000,000 plus tax figure is a 2016 Japanese recommended retail price. It is not a current market value. Nothing established here gives a present dealer listing, auction result or transaction price for a FUGAKU.
