They share the solar Caliber V192 and the same published case specifications; the main difference is their dial and bezel coloring. Seiko said they would reach its boutiques and selected retail partners from November 2022, with an approximate European recommended retail price of €700 at launch.
What are the SSC911, SSC913 and SSC915?
They are three stainless-steel Prospex Speedtimer chronographs announced by Seiko in 2022. The company framed them as a modern continuation of the Speedtimer design, pairing the series’ heritage-inspired styling with solar power. Seiko describes the 1969 Speedtimer, equipped with Caliber 6139, as “one of the world’s first automatic chronographs”; that is Seiko’s characterization of the model’s place in watch history.
The three references share a tachymeter bezel, three-register dial layout, and red central chronograph-seconds and six-o’clock chronograph-minute hands. Their hands and indexes use Lumibrite, and the date window is positioned between indexes.
How do the three models differ?
| Reference | Dial | Bezel | Visual character |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSC911 | White sunray with three black registers | Gray and black aluminum | Panda-style contrast |
| SSC913 | Blue sunray | Blue and red aluminum | Often called “Pepsi” styling |
| SSC915 | Black sunray | Black and red aluminum | Often called “Coke” styling |
The “panda,” “Pepsi” and “Coke” labels are descriptive nicknames used by Fratello, not Seiko model names. For the source descriptions, see Fratello’s 11 October 2022 comparison.
