What is the Seiko Presage Style60’s collection?
Seiko introduced the Style60’s collection in 2021 as a contemporary Presage line with styling inspired by the Crown Chronograph, launched in 1964. Seiko calls that original “Seiko’s and Japan’s first wristwatch equipped with a stopwatch function.” The Style60’s uses selected vintage cues rather than reproducing the original watch feature for feature.
Seiko identifies the box-shaped glass, faceted indexes and sharply shaped hands as design references. The case has a gently rounded profile angled inward, with polished lugs. The collection also brings in modern details: the original Crown Chronograph had no date window, but some Style60’s models do, and Seiko described nylon straps as a first for Presage in its collection announcement. Dial colors included black, brown, ivory, blue and green; selected models use faded-color LumiBrite.

Which 2021 references were available?
The launch line is easiest to compare by movement and display: SRPG references use Seiko’s 4R35 caliber with a date display, while SSA references use the 4R39 with an open-heart aperture. Reference names and suffixes vary by market, so check the exact regional designation when identifying a particular watch.

SSA423J1 specifications: one concrete example
Seiko’s US product page lists the following specifications for the SSA423. They apply to that reference and should not be assumed for the other Style60’s models.

- Case: 40.8 mm diameter, 12.8 mm thickness and 47.0 mm lug-to-lug

How to choose between the references
- Choose by display: the SRPG family has a date display; the SSA family adds an open-heart aperture at 9 o’clock.
- Choose by dial and bezel: the launch-era examples include ivory with a black bezel, blue, dark green and black. Confirm the precise dial and bezel combination for the reference and market you are considering.
- Choose by strap: the covered SRPG03J1, SRPG05J1 and SRPG07J1 launch models were described on steel bracelets, while SRPG09J1 was shown on nylon. Check the exact listing rather than assuming that a reference or later variant has the same configuration.
- Check the suffix and region: regional model naming and availability differ. Match the full reference on the watch, listing and documentation.
The cited launch coverage establishes the models’ design and listed specifications, but not comparative wrist comfort, real-world accuracy, or durability from testing. For replacement straps, verify the lug distance for the exact reference; Seiko lists 20 mm for the SSA423, which does not establish fit for every Style60’s model.
