Seiko’s U.S. Ice Diver editions pair a polar-exploration-inspired design with Prospex dive-watch specifications. Of the three references, the SPB263 is the one for which Seiko Luxe provides a full, model-specific specification set: a 42.7 mm steel case, 200 m stated water resistance and the automatic 6R35 movement with an approximately 70-hour reserve. The SPB265 is identifiable by its gradated green dial; the available sources do not reliably establish the SPB261’s color or unique specifications. All three were announced in 2021 at a historical suggested retail price of $1,400 each.
What the Seiko Ice Diver editions are
SPB261, SPB263 and SPB265 are U.S. Special Edition Seiko Prospex automatic divers announced by Seiko Corporation of America in October 2021. The announcement said they would arrive at Seiko Luxe retailers in November 2021. Seiko connected their design to its 1970 diver and the polar-exploration legacy of Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura; that historical framing is Seiko’s account of the inspiration, not an independent assessment of the watches’ performance.
Seiko describes the dial patterns and colors as evoking sled tracks across snow and light reflecting off glacial ice. That visual theme is the clearest common thread across the edition: functional diver-style bezels and lume sit alongside textured, graduated dials intended to recall an Arctic landscape.
SPB261 vs SPB263 vs SPB265
The verified reference-specific details are uneven, so this comparison separates what is established from what is not. Seiko’s launch announcement names the three variants and their shared launch context, while the current Seiko Luxe product page provides detailed specifications for SPB263. The SPB265 retailer page supports its green dial description and selected features, but contains conflicting unrelated text in its lower specifications; those lower-page details are not used here.

How big is the Seiko SPB263?
Seiko Luxe lists the SPB263 at 42.7 mm across, 13.2 mm thick and 46.6 mm in length, with a 20 mm lug width. The 46.6 mm length is relevant when considering how the case may span the wrist; diameter alone does not tell the whole fit story. These figures are specific to the SPB263 product listing and should not be treated as confirmed measurements for SPB261 or SPB265.
Movement, materials and everyday details
SPB263 specifications
Seiko Luxe specifies its Caliber 6R35 as an automatic movement with manual winding, 24 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. These are manufacturer specifications, not the result of an independent accuracy or reserve test.

It also specifies a screw-down crown, a special-edition caseback and a clasp with secure lock and extender. The bezel is gray and rotates one way for elapsed timing.
SPB265 details and SPB261 limits
ShopSeiko’s SPB265 Ice Diver introduction describes a gradated green dial, gray unidirectional timing bezel, date, LumiBrite, sapphire crystal, screw-down components, a 4 o’clock crown protector and the 6R35 movement with approximately 70 hours of reserve. Its lower-page specifications include unrelated or contradictory text, so dimensions and strap details there are not reliable evidence for this reference.

The available model-specific material does not establish a dependable specification set for SPB261. Its inclusion in the release is confirmed, but its color, dimensions and unique construction details should be checked against a current official listing or manual rather than inferred from the other two references.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Seiko Ice Diver suitable for scuba diving?
Seiko states 200 m (660 ft) water resistance for the SPB263 and describes it as suitable for scuba diving; the 2021 launch announcement says the editions follow ISO standards. The available wording does not identify a particular ISO standard number or establish independent certification or testing. Treat these as manufacturer-stated specifications, and follow the watch’s current manual and maintenance guidance before relying on it in water.

Price and availability today
The original suggested retail price was $1,400 per watch, with Seiko Luxe retailer availability announced for November 2021. That is historical launch pricing, not a current quote. Present-day stock, transaction prices and warranty terms are not established here; check the seller, reference number, condition and applicable warranty before buying. For a warranty-conscious purchase, start with Seiko’s retailer channel and confirm that the seller is currently authorized.
Who should consider an Ice Diver?
The SPB263 is the most straightforward choice to evaluate from published specifications: buyers can verify its case dimensions, 20 mm lug width, materials and movement against Seiko Luxe’s listing. The SPB265 stands out visually if the green gradated dial is the desired look, though its dimensions are not reliably established in the available model page. For SPB261, confirm the exact color and specifications before choosing it on a model-by-model basis.
As a collection, these are design-led Prospex divers with a distinct Seiko polar-exploration story, recognizable dial texture and a substantial 200 m manufacturer-stated rating. No independent accuracy, cold-weather operation or diving-performance results are established, so the practical case for one should rest on confirmed reference details, fit and condition—not assumed testing.
