Announced on October 4, 2023, it pairs a titanium case and bracelet with Seiko’s automatic mechanical Caliber 8L35, a rotating compass bezel and 20-bar water resistance. Seiko planned availability from November 2023; that release schedule does not confirm present-day stock.
What is the Seiko Prospex SLA071?
The SLA071 is Seiko’s Landmaster 30th-anniversary watch. Seiko says the series began in Japan in 1993 and describes Landmaster as a line shaped around the needs of adventurers and mountaineers. The company positioned the SLA071 as a limited creation commemorating that history.
The anniversary is a milestone for the model family, not a claim that its movement technology remained unchanged. Seiko’s historical account describes the original generation as using automatic generating quartz technology; the SLA071 instead uses a mechanical movement.

These are the specifications in Seiko’s October 4, 2023 announcement; the release notes that specifications may change. The 20-bar rating and rotating compass bezel are the clearest functional details in the published specification list, while the 42.0 mm diameter and 12.7 mm thickness describe the case dimensions.

Movement and Landmaster design
Caliber 8L35 is automatic and also supports manual winding. Seiko gives it a 50-hour power reserve and says it is manufactured at Shizukuishi Watch Studio in northern Japan. The official design history says the SLA071 inherits from classic Landmaster models and notes that solid titanium cases have appeared from the second generation onward.
The result links the anniversary model to the line’s established material and design history while using a mechanical caliber distinct from the original generation’s automatic generating quartz technology. Seiko’s description of the line as loved by adventurers and mountaineers is the company’s own positioning, not an independent performance assessment.

Edition size, release timing and price
Seiko announced a worldwide production limit of 1,000 pieces and planned availability beginning in November 2023. These are original release details, not confirmation that new watches remain available.
Seiko’s Danish announcement listed a recommended retail price of 21,895 DKK at publication in 2023. That figure is specific to the Danish release and is not a current or universal price.
