The Seiko SARB033 is a Japan-market automatic watch reference associated with the 6R15 movement. Its listed dimensions are 38.5 mm across and 11.2 mm thick, with a sapphire crystal, 100 m water-resistance rating and 20 mm lug width. Seiko’s 6R15 documentation describes manual winding, date setting and stop seconds, plus an approximately 50-hour power reserve and a specified worn-rate range. Those caliber figures describe the movement specification—not the present performance of any individual used watch.
What is the Seiko SARB033?
TheSeikoGuy identifies the SARB033 as a Japan-market mechanical automatic introduced in 2008, with the case-movement reference 6R15-00C0. This model history comes from a specialist secondary reference; the official Seiko documents cited here describe the 6R15 caliber, rather than a current SARB033 product page. The SARB033 model reference and the 6R15-00C0 guide provide the model and case-code details.

What are the SARB033’s published specifications?
The model-specific reference lists these dimensions and features. They are published specifications, not measurements of a particular example.

At 38.5 mm in diameter, the listed size gives a useful comparison point, but fit also depends on wrist shape and bracelet adjustment. The 20 mm lug width is a starting point for strap selection, not a guarantee that every strap or replacement bracelet will fit; check the end links and exact case reference. The case-code guide lists D385AG as a metal-band reference, which is a compatibility lead rather than proof of universal fit.

What does the 6R15 movement do?
Seiko’s 6R15A/6R15B technical guide lists automatic winding with a manual winding mechanism, instant date setting and a stop-second function. It specifies 21,600 vibrations per hour, 23 jewels and approximately 50 hours of operating time from a full wind to stoppage. These are caliber-level specifications; they do not establish how a particular SARB033 is currently running.
Winding and setting
Seiko’s 6R15 manual says that a completely stopped watch can be started by turning the crown approximately 20 times. The manual explains the crown positions and winding procedure; follow it rather than forcing the crown. It also describes the watch as powered by a mainspring.
The stop-second function means the seconds hand stops during time setting, allowing the wearer to align the seconds hand when setting the time. The manual describes date setting, but date changes should be made according to the instructions for the watch rather than by forcing the mechanism.

How to interpret the accuracy specification
The technical guide states a worn daily-rate range of +25/-15 seconds per day under its specified temperature conditions of 5°C to 35°C. This is a stated specification for the caliber, not an accuracy test, guarantee, or result for every SARB033. Seiko’s manual notes that mechanical-watch accuracy varies with wearing time, temperature, wrist movement and mainspring winding state, and is normally expressed as daily gain or loss.
What should you check on a used SARB033?
For a second-hand watch, the published specification describes the model when assessed against its stated characteristics; it does not certify the condition of the example for sale. The evidence here establishes no current market price, availability, resale value or marketplace authenticity. Check the specific watch, seller and documentation before deciding.
- Running and timekeeping: Ask how the watch behaves in use and whether it has been serviced or regulated. Compare any claimed rate over a meaningful period; do not treat the caliber’s stated range as a measured result for that watch.
- Service history: Request dated service records if available. A seller’s statement that the watch runs does not establish service condition.
- Water resistance: The model reference lists 100 m, but an aged or unserviced example may not retain that protection. Do not rely on the rating for water use without an appropriate current condition check.
- Fit and replacement parts: Confirm bracelet end-link compatibility and case reference. A generic 20 mm strap may fit the lug width but still be unsuitable for a particular fitting or intended use.
- Identity and completeness: Check the case and movement references, photographs, seller history and any included documents. No listing or authenticity assessment is established by the published model specifications.
What ownership issues can affect the 6R15?
Seiko says strong magnetism can temporarily cause a mechanical watch to gain or lose time. Its manual adds that repair, such as removal of magnetism, may be required. Persistent poor timekeeping can have causes beyond magnetism, so avoid assuming that demagnetizing alone will resolve it; qualified watch service may be appropriate.
