The Serica 1174 Parade is the better fit if you want an automatic watch and a higher stated water-resistance rating; the echo/neutra Rivanera suits you better if a very slim profile, titanium case and hand-wound routine are the draw. They share a listed price in the cited manufacturer-page snapshots, but their shapes and dial designs are markedly different.

The Parade dimensions above are for the original version covered by Fratello’s review, not a guarantee that every later dial variant has identical specifications. Rivanera case and strap details can vary by dial listing.
Which is easier to live with day to day?
Choose the Parade for automatic winding
The Parade winds itself as you wear it, so it avoids the daily winding ritual required by the Rivanera. Serica calls it a self-winding watch “truly designed for everyday life”; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent test. Its 100 m stated water resistance also gives it a higher rating than the Rivanera, though a rating alone does not guarantee suitability for every activity or strap. Check each maker’s guidance for the specific watch and intended use.
Choose the Rivanera if you enjoy winding your watch
The ETA 7001 in the Rivanera is wound by hand. That means it asks for deliberate interaction rather than winding during wear. Both cited movements have a 42-hour power reserve, but the way they are kept running is the practical difference: automatic winding for the Parade, manual winding for the Rivanera.

How do they wear on the wrist?
The Rivanera is the noticeably slimmer proposition on the cited measurements: echo/neutra lists it at 5.9 mm including its crystal, while Fratello gives the original Parade as 8.6 mm thick. The Rivanera’s official page specifies 27 mm across its rectangular case and 40 mm lug-to-lug; the Parade’s stadium-shaped case is 35 mm wide and 41 mm long in the review. Those shapes make the numbers read differently on the wrist: one is a narrow rectangle, the other a compact, rounded stadium form.
The materials also set a different feel and appearance. The Parade uses steel with brushed and polished surfaces. The Rivanera uses sandblasted Grade 5 titanium with polished edges. Titanium may appeal if you prefer that material, but the cited listings do not provide comparable weights, so there is no basis here for a specific weight claim.

Which design is closer to your taste?
Serica: textured brass or Linen
Serica describes the original Parade’s brass dial as sunburst-finished with radial guilloché formed from 48 S-shaped curves and twelve applied polished markers. Its collection page also lists Linen versions, including Tobacco and Slate, alongside earlier dial variants. The dial is the watch’s visual centerpiece; the variant you choose changes the effect, so compare the live listings rather than assuming every Ref. 1174 has the same finish.
Rivanera: a slim, Art Deco-style rectangle
echo/neutra describes the Rivanera’s dial as Art Deco-style with applied indices. Its rectangular case and thin profile give it a different kind of dress-watch presence from the Parade’s stadium silhouette. The official White listing describes a black rubber strap and a dark green Horween Shell Cordovan option. The Black listing instead names black rubber and black Saffiano leather, so check the exact variant and included strap before ordering.

The cited manufacturer snapshots show €1,490 for both watches, but that is a snapshot rather than a guaranteed current or region-specific checkout price. Serica’s Ref. 1174 page showed the cited listing as sold out with a waitlist option when accessed on 2026-10-07. Stock, shipping, regional terms, prices and included straps can change; confirm them on the live product pages before purchase.

Which one should you choose?
- Pick the Serica 1174 Parade if you want automatic winding, a steel stadium-shaped case, a more expressive textured dial and the higher stated water-resistance rating.
- Pick the echo/neutra Rivanera if you want a particularly thin rectangular watch, Grade 5 titanium, an Art Deco-style dial and the hands-on habit of winding it yourself.
Neither is a universal winner: the deciding trade-off is whether you value the Parade’s automatic operation and 100 m rating more than the Rivanera’s slimmer profile and titanium construction.
