What is the SERICA Parade Ref. 1174?
The Parade is SERICA’s first shaped watch, introduced in November 2024. Its case is an ellipse with straight sides—the form commonly called a stadium shape—and its dial shows only hours and minutes. SERICA says of the design, “The ambition of the parade is not to stand out but to never be forgotten…” (SERICA’s Ref. 1174 collection page).
The name covers the original Ref. 1174-1 and 1174-2, as well as the Linen Ref. 1174-3 and 1174-4. The reference’s 1:1.74 proportion was explained as a design choice in Hodinkee’s 2024 launch coverage; it is the brand’s rationale for the name, not a separately verified engineering standard.
Case size and reported specifications
Fratello’s November 25, 2024 hands-on report gives the original black and brass-toned Ref. 1174 a 35 mm width, 41 mm length and 8.6 mm thickness. These are compact nominal dimensions, but a stadium case can sit differently from a round watch of similar width; wrist fit depends on the individual and should ideally be checked in person.

Fratello and Hodinkee reported 8.6 mm thickness for the original model, while Time+Tide reported 8.3 mm. Treat the figure as reported rather than as a confirmed specification for every current suffix. SERICA describes the watch as self-winding and water resistant to 100 meters; it also says the caseback screws pass through the mid-case to secure the bezel and increase compression on O-rings. That is the manufacturer’s explanation of construction, not an independent water-resistance test. Verify the specifications for the precise variant you are considering, especially the strap.
Original and Linen dial options
Original Ref. 1174-1 and 1174-2
The first two versions came with satin black or brass-toned dials. The original design combines sunray finishing with a radial guilloché pattern made up of 48 S-curves and twelve polished, half-sphere applied hour markers. The two-hand layout leaves out a seconds hand. Hodinkee noted at launch that this meant the watch could not be COSC-certified in the same way as some other SERICA releases.

Linen Ref. 1174-3 and 1174-4
SERICA describes the Linen dial’s relief as inspired by organic cross-weave fabric and retains twelve hand-applied polished hour markers. The variants are named Tobacco (Ref. 1174-3) and Slate (Ref. 1174-4). In later Fratello coverage, the colors were observed as brown-leaning for Tobacco Green and blue for Slate Blue; appearance and sheen can vary with light, so consult SERICA’s current images or arrange a try-on if color is decisive.

What to check before buying
- Choose by dial and reference. The original black and brass-toned options have sunray and S-curve guilloché; Tobacco and Slate use the newer Linen texture.
- Confirm fit. The reported original case measures 35 × 41 mm, but those dimensions alone cannot predict how its straight-sided shape will sit on your wrist.
- Verify the exact variant’s specifications. The detailed movement, thickness and strap figures cited here come from 2024 coverage of the original watch and should not automatically be applied to Linen references.
- Check live terms. Price, stock, delivery, returns and warranty are subject to SERICA’s current page and terms. The accessed official page described a two-year international warranty from receipt and a 14-day return window from delivery; confirm that these terms still apply before ordering.
