The Serica Ref. 5303 PLD is a specialist version of the brand’s 5303 dive chronometer, developed with the Amicale des Plongeurs Démineurs, or Miner Divers’ Association. Its defining changes are a dual meter-and-minute bezel, a matte black dial marked “Amagnetic Chronometer,” and an enlarged luminous seconds marker. SERICA describes these features as an adaptation for underwater intervention specialists—not as evidence of a military procurement contract.
What is the Serica 5303 PLD?
SERICA describes the PLD as an adaptation of its 5303 diving chronometer for the specific needs and habits of mine-clearance divers. The collaboration is with the Amicale des Plongeurs Démineurs, an association for those specialists. That is the extent of the relationship established by the brand’s product description; it does not establish that a military organization formally procured the watch. SERICA’s Ref. 5303 PLD product page
The watch retains the core format of a mechanical dive chronometer while changing the bezel scale and dial details to reflect that intended use. The result is still a 5303, but one with a more specific operational rationale than a standard dive-watch release.
What is different about the Serica 5303 PLD?
Dual meter-and-minute bezel
The ceramic “DT MAX” bezel carries graduations in both meters and minutes. SERICA says the combined scale is intended to help a diver read maximum working time at depth. That is the manufacturer’s description of the feature, not a substitute for dive training, dive tables, a computer, or other qualified dive-planning guidance.

- Solar powered quartz movement helps reduce frequent battery replacement.
- 300M water resistant design supports swimming, snorkeling, diving, and water sports.
- Luminous hands and markers improve readability in dark or low-light conditions.
- Durable case and mineral glass are built for outdoor and everyday wear.
- WATCH SIZE & WRIST FIT: Features a 45.8 mm (1.80 in) case diameter and a 51.4 mm (2.02 in) lug-to-lug length. The adjustable 24 mm silicone strap accommodates wrists up to 230 mm (9.1 in). Measure your wrist and check the case dimensions before ordering, especially if you have a smaller wrist.
Dial and seconds marker
The matte black dial includes the wording “Amagnetic Chronometer,” and the luminous seconds marker is larger than on the standard design. SERICA connects the anti-magnetic emphasis to divers working near munitions. The seconds marker is a visible distinction; the brand’s explanation of magnetic resistance provides the context for the dial inscription.
Case, movement and certification
SERICA’s PLD product specifications list a 39 mm 316L stainless-steel case, water resistance to 30 bar, an automatic SoProd M100 caliber and COSC chronometer certification. These are manufacturer specifications; water-resistance ratings do not by themselves establish a safe operating depth for an individual dive. SERICA Ref. 5303 PLD specifications

Magnetic-resistance claim and its scope
SERICA’s broader 5303 collection page says the family has magnetic resistance above 50,000 A/m, compared with 4,800 A/m for the Swiss standard cited on that page. This is a family-level manufacturer claim; the PLD product page does not give that numeric comparison. SERICA 5303 collection page

| Comparison point | What SERICA states for the PLD | What to verify on another 5303 |
|---|---|---|
| Case and water resistance | 39 mm case; 30 bar water resistance (PLD product page) | Use the individual reference’s specifications; the collection page describes the family as 300 m. |
| Movement and certification | Automatic SoProd M100; COSC chronometer certification | Check the specific reference listing rather than assuming all details are identical. |
| Bezel | DT MAX ceramic bezel with meter and minute graduations | Check whether the bezel uses the dual scale and what function SERICA assigns to it. |
| Magnetic resistance | The PLD page uses “Amagnetic Chronometer” wording but gives no numeric comparison. | The 5303 collection page claims more than 50,000 A/m against a cited Swiss-standard figure of 4,800 A/m; this is a family-page claim. |
| Edition and availability | The archive lists the 2025 edition as 350 pieces and sold out. | Confirm edition size and present stock for the exact reference. |
| Bracelet or strap, price and warranty | Not stated in the cited PLD specification details. | Check the seller’s current listing and terms; these can vary by configuration and point of sale. |
SERICA’s standard 5303 collection page describes water resistance as 300 m, while its PLD product page states 30 bar. Both are the figures published by the brand on those respective pages; neither should be read as a guarantee of a particular safe diving depth.
