The Sinn 206 ARKTIS II pairs a 300 m water-resistance rating with the maker’s stated functional temperature range of −45 °C to +80 °C. It is a substantial 43 mm automatic dive chronograph with a blue sunburst dial, day-date display and ratcheting diver’s bezel. Those specifications give it a distinctive technical brief; they do not, by themselves, establish how comfortable it is on a particular wrist or whether its chronograph is certified for every underwater use.
What is the Sinn 206 ARKTIS II?
The 206 ARKTIS II is an automatic mechanical chronograph in Sinn’s 206 series, designed around a combination of dive-watch credentials and temperature-resistance technology. Sinn’s 2025–2026 catalogue says the original 203 ARKTIS was unveiled in 1999 as the first diving chronograph to feature the company’s Temperature Resistance Technology. Sinn says it developed the 206 ARKTIS II in 2019 for the predecessor’s 20th anniversary. The current model’s catalogue describes a blue electroplated sunburst dial.
The official technical sheet lists hours, minutes, subsidiary seconds, date, day and chronograph functions, plus a diver’s bezel with minute ratcheting and a luminous key mark. The design is not a small, stripped-back timing watch: it combines a calendar display and chronograph with a rotating bezel, all in a 43 mm case.
Temperature resistance and DNV certification
Sinn’s official 206 ARKTIS II technical sheet states: “Temperature Resistance Technology, therefore functionally reliable at temperatures from −45 °C up to +80 °C”. This is the manufacturer’s stated operating range, not an independent test result presented here. Sinn also describes Ar-Dehumidifying Technology as enhancing functional reliability and freedom from fogging.

The technical sheet specifies water and pressure resistance of 300 m (30 bar), certified by DNV, and references DIN 8310 and DIN 8306. Sinn’s 2025–2026 catalogue says: “DNV verifies and certifies the pressure resistance of our 206 series to a diving depth of 300 metres and its temperature resistance and functionality in accordance with the European diving equipment standards EN250 and EN14143.” That is Sinn’s account of the certification scope. It should not be read as proof that the chronograph pushers are intended for operation underwater or that the watch is suitable for every dive profile.
The technical sheet also lists push-pieces with Sinn’s D3 System and a captive bezel. These are construction features; anyone planning to use the watch for diving should follow the current manual and the relevant dive-safety procedures rather than infer operating instructions from the feature list.

Case, movement and functions
Sinn’s technical sheet gives the case diameter as 43 mm and the band lug width as 22 mm. The case is polished and satinized stainless steel, with a front sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a sapphire display back. It has a screw-down crown. The sheet describes a self-winding mechanical movement running at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour, with stop-seconds and anti-magnetic construction according to DIN 8309.
The retailer listing for reference 206.012 identifies the movement as a Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels and the same stated frequency. Sinn’s technical sheet, as retrieved, does not name the caliber, so treat that identification as retailer-reported and verify it against the documentation for the specific watch.

- Silver-tone watch featuring left-handed crown and black dial with 1/20-second chronograph function, slide-rotating inner bezel, and date window
- 45.5 mm stainless steel case with mineral dial window
- Quartz movement with analog display
- Stainless steel band featuring fold-over push-button clasp with safety
- Water resistant to 100 m (330 ft): In general, suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not scuba diving
The 43 mm diameter and 22 mm lug width are useful starting points for judging size and strap compatibility, but they do not tell the whole fit story. Thickness, lug-to-lug distance, weight and wrist shape also matter; those values are not established in the cited specification here. Without hands-on evidence, it would be misleading to call the watch comfortable, legible in all conditions, or too large for a given wrist.
Strap and bracelet configurations
Sinn’s catalogue depicts the watch on a solid stainless-steel bracelet and on a blue silicone strap. Retailer pages show different configurations, so a listing should not be assumed to include the same bracelet, strap, clasp or accessories as another. Confirm exactly what is supplied with the seller and reference number before comparing offers.

At 22 mm, the stated lug width can help narrow strap searches, but width alone does not guarantee a correct fit. End links, spring bars, clasp compatibility and suitability for diving all require model-specific confirmation. A third-party strap recommendation based only on the width would be incomplete.
Who should consider the 206 ARKTIS II?
- It may suit you if you want a mechanical chronograph with a 300 m rating, day-date display and manufacturer-stated temperature technology, and you value those specifications enough to accept a 43 mm stainless-steel watch.
- Look more closely at fit if you prefer compact watches or need a confident assessment of thickness, weight and wrist presence. The available dimensions here do not settle those questions.
- Check the documentation if you expect to time events underwater. The certification statement describes pressure resistance and temperature resistance/functionality; it does not establish every possible underwater chronograph use case.
- Compare configurations carefully if the bracelet or a particular strap is important. The catalogue and retailers do not show a single universal bundle.
Price and availability
Prices and stock depend on seller, market, date and configuration. One German retailer listing retrieved for this review showed €4,200 including VAT; one Japanese listing showed ¥1,116,500 including tax. These are examples from individual retailer pages, not a current global price or a like-for-like comparison. Check the seller’s live listing for current price, taxes, availability and included strap or bracelet before buying.
