The Sternglas Marus 2.0 is an automatic watch with diver-inspired styling, not a certified dive watch: Sternglas says it has not been certified to ISO dive-watch standards. The black version is listed with a 42 mm steel case and TMI NH35 movement. Its 20-bar rating describes laboratory test pressure, not a promised diving depth.
What the Marus 2.0 is
Sternglas describes the Marus 2.0 as a complete redesign of the original Marus, with broader hour markers, revised bezel details and an automatic movement. The maker frames it as a dive-inspired design within its Bauhaus-style range. That makes it a sport watch with a diver-style look, rather than a conventional minimalist dress watch. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions, not independent observations.
Sternglas founder Dustin Fontaine describes the brand’s positioning this way: “Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come.” This is the founder’s statement of intent, not evidence of long-term durability.

These dimensions offer a useful first screen for fit: the 50 mm lug-to-lug measurement is especially relevant to how far the case may span across a wrist. The figures alone cannot establish how the watch will feel or sit on an individual wrist.
Is the Marus 2.0 a certified dive watch?
No. Sternglas says the Marus 2.0 has not been certified under ISO dive-watch standards. The company describes it as an automatic watch with dive-inspired design. Its discussion of ISO 6425 and DIN 8306 refers to standards that include technical requirements such as legibility and resistance to environmental conditions; that does not establish that this model has passed those standards.

The watch has features associated with diver-style designs. Sternglas describes its bezel as unidirectional, with a 60-minute scale and 120 clicks, and says the bezel markings, hands and broader hour markers use luminous material. These are manufacturer claims; no independent assessment of bezel operation or low-light performance is established here.
What does 20 bar water resistance mean?
Sternglas rates the Marus 2.0 to 20 bar, or 20 ATM. The company says this figure describes test pressure under laboratory conditions and does not refer to a real diving depth. In particular, a dial or specification expressed as “200 metres” should not be read as permission to dive to that depth.

Variants, price and availability
Sternglas lists a black version and a green-dial version with a bronze-finish case and bracelet. Confirm the available variants and local stock in your market before ordering. The official black product page lists €549; this is a changeable listed price, not a guaranteed price for every market or date.

Bracelet fit and maintenance
The black product page describes tool-free quick-change spring bars. A 20 mm lug width does not by itself guarantee that a generic strap or bracelet will fit correctly: end-link shape and clearance also matter.
Sternglas’s German accessory page lists a 20 mm stainless-steel bracelet for the Marus 2.0 and Merion only. It specifies 316L steel and a bracelet length of 130–180 mm, and lists the bracelet at €89. Check local availability and current pricing, and follow the stated model compatibility rather than assuming other 20 mm bracelets will fit.

For care, Sternglas recommends service every 3–5 years for daily use. It also advises having the seals checked every five years and replaced if needed. These are the manufacturer’s recommendations, not a universal service interval for every automatic watch.
What is—and is not—established about wearing it
The published specifications explain the movement, dimensions and water-resistance claim, but they do not establish wrist comfort, finishing quality, timekeeping in use, lume duration or how the bezel feels in operation. No independent hands-on assessment is available to support those judgments, so treat them as questions to check in person or through a separately documented review rather than as proven strengths or weaknesses.
