Swatch’s Big Bold Irony collection debuted in 2023, not 2026. It introduced a stainless-steel take on the oversized Big Bold line, pairing a Bioceramic core with steel cases and offering both strap and bracelet versions. Swatch also added two named Big Bold Irony models in 2025.
What is the Swatch Big Bold Irony?
Big Bold Irony is a quartz watch collection in Swatch’s Big Bold family. Swatch Japan described its July 2023 debut as the first Big Bold line made with stainless steel. The original design concept combined a Bioceramic core with a stainless-steel case; the first models used either a structured strap or a steel bracelet. Swatch’s US product page identifies the DARK IRONY, model SB07S105, as a quartz watch with 3 bar water resistance.
For the original strap models, Swatch specified a sandblasted steel case and crown, a skeleton dial, luminous hands and indices, and a crown positioned at 2 o’clock. The release listed their weight as 108 g. Those details describe the initial strap models, not necessarily every watch in the broader collection. Swatch Japan’s July 5, 2023 announcement called the first five “bold statement pieces with post-modern combinations of contrasting colors and materials.”

2023 steel-bracelet models
A second set of five watches paired steel bracelets with sunray dials:
- AQUA SHIMMER: turquoise
- FOREST FACE: dark green
- INDIGO HOUR: navy blue
- AMBER SHEEN: amber
- SCARLET SHIMMER: burgundy
Swatch said the case, crown, and bracelet on this group had a sandblasted finish created using a treatment the company had developed. The launch announcement did not publish a weight for these bracelet models.

Models announced in 2025
In an April 18, 2025 announcement, Swatch Japan listed two more 47 mm Big Bold Irony models: SWATCH BIG BOLD MOMENT (SB07S122) and CONFIDENT MOMENT (SB07S125). The announcement gave each a Japanese suggested price of ¥31,900 and scheduled the collection for May 1, 2025. These are historical Japanese launch details, not a current global price or proof of present availability. Swatch Japan’s 2025 release announcement provides the model names, sizes, and launch prices.
When did Big Bold Irony go on sale?
Swatch Japan scheduled the original release in two waves: July 6, 2023, and September 7, 2023. The announcement said the watches would be sold through Swatch.com and Swatch stores. Those dates explain the original rollout; they do not indicate current stock or availability in any particular country.

The strap line is the choice if you want the open, skeleton-style dial and contrasting strap colors. The bracelet line changes the look with a sunray dial and matching metal band. Compare an individual reference before buying: the 2023 specifications above should not be assumed to apply to every later model.
Price and availability: what the published figures mean
Prices in the available Swatch announcements are tied to specific markets and dates. Swatch Japan announced ¥31,900 per model for SWATCH BIG BOLD MOMENT and CONFIDENT MOMENT in 2025. Separately, the US DARK IRONY product page displayed $215 when accessed on October 7, 2026; that is a time-sensitive US listing price, not a collection-wide price. Swatch’s US DARK IRONY page identifies the listing as model SB07S105. Check the relevant Swatch store for current local pricing and stock.

Battery and water-resistance details
Big Bold Irony is a quartz line. Swatch’s May 2025 battery list associates the collection with a size 394 battery, but the document warns that battery types can differ and directs owners to check the engraving on the back of their specific watch. Do not order a replacement based on the collection name alone. Swatch’s battery information includes that model-specific caution.
For DARK IRONY SB07S105, Swatch’s US listing states 3 bar water resistance. This specification is for that listed model; confirm the rating for another reference on its product page or documentation before exposing it to water.
