The CHANEL J12 Paradoxe is a 38 mm J12 watch, reference H6515, that combines black and white high-resistance ceramic in one case. Launched in 2020, the J12’s twentieth-anniversary year, it pairs that two-color case with a black-and-white lacquered dial and an automatic Caliber 12.1 movement. CHANEL currently lists it at $10,550 in the US and £8,700 in the UK; those are separate regional prices, not a universal price.
What is the CHANEL J12 Paradoxe?
The J12 Paradoxe is a model in CHANEL’s J12 watch collection, identified by reference H6515. Its defining feature is a single 38 mm case combining black and white ceramic. That makes “two-tone” a description of its ceramic color treatment, not the conventional use of the term for a watch made with two contrasting metals such as steel and gold.

Specialist launch coverage introduced the Paradoxe in 2020, the J12’s twentieth-anniversary year, as a bold new treatment of the collection. Revolution Watch described the case as mostly white ceramic with a black section and reported that the ceramic parts are cut and combined. That construction account is specialist reporting; CHANEL’s product listing confirms the two-color ceramic case but does not explain the assembly process. Revolution Watch’s J12 Paradoxe introduction
The “world’s first” wording in the launch headline should be treated as a claim, not an independently established global first: the available sources do not verify that no earlier fully two-color ceramic watch existed.

How does the two-color ceramic design fit the J12 story?
CHANEL says the first black ceramic J12 was unveiled in 2000 and white ceramic followed in 2003. The Paradoxe brings those signature colors together within one case rather than choosing one monochrome finish. Its white ceramic bracelet and contrasting black-and-white dial carry the color idea beyond the case.
On its J12 collection page, CHANEL describes ceramic color as a result of high-temperature firing and variations in sintering, pressure and temperature. It says the J12 ceramic is heated above 1,300°C and polished with diamond powder. CHANEL also calls the material “7 times stronger than steel”; that is the brand’s own comparative claim, not an independent measurement established here. The H6515 uses CHANEL’s self-winding Caliber 12.1, with an approximately 70-hour power reserve according to the current product listing. It displays hours, minutes, seconds and the date. CHANEL says J12 watches are developed and assembled at its La Chaux-de-Fonds manufacture, and that Caliber 12.1 is produced at Kenissi, which CHANEL co-owns. Those are CHANEL’s descriptions of its manufacturing arrangements, rather than independent assessments of the movement.
How much does the CHANEL J12 Paradoxe cost?
As listed on CHANEL’s official product pages on October 7, 2026, the H6515 costs $10,550 in the United States and £8,700 in the United Kingdom. These prices apply to their respective regional listings; they are not currency conversions or a worldwide price. Retail prices can change, so check the relevant local listing before buying.
CHANEL’s US listing offers contact and click-and-collect options, but availability at a particular boutique is not established by the listing alone.
What should you know about sizing, warranty and service?
CHANEL lists a five-year warranty and says bracelet sizing is available at a CHANEL Fine Jewelry boutique. Its product page also links to watch care and service information. Confirm the applicable terms and local service options with CHANEL for your region; a product page does not establish inventory or the status of any third-party seller.
