The Swatch Scuba Libre Chlorofish is a colorful, time-only quartz watch whose appeal is its clear case, white strap and skeletonized green-accented dial—not proven diving performance. Its water-resistance figures conflict: Swatch Group Japan’s 2013 collection announcement stated 20 bar while warning against actual scuba use; Swatch’s current product finder lists 3 bar for CHLOROFISH SUUK100. Neither figure is a sound basis for trusting an older example in water.
What is the Swatch Scuba Libre Chlorofish?
Chlorofish was one of three “Mad About Styling” models in the Scuba Libre collection announced in 2013, alongside Cuttlefish and Clownfish. Swatch Group Japan described the collection as nine models divided into three lines, with release planned for 15 June 2013. The launch announcement framed Scuba Libre as a return of the earlier Swatch Scuba line. Swatch Group’s announcement also emphasized bold indicators, rotating bezels and silicone straps, but that broad collection description does not establish every detail for this specific variant.
The name used by Swatch’s current product finder is CHLOROFISH SUUK100. That code is useful when searching for the watch, but the live listing does not establish current retail stock or the condition of secondhand examples.
Design and dial
A translucent, high-contrast look
The Chlorofish’s defining feature is its transparent plastic case, white strap and green dial accents. A skeletonized dial exposes the quartz movement, making the mechanism part of the visual design rather than hiding it behind a conventional dial. Alexis N. Crockett’s March 2014 review describes these features and the watch as a battery-powered, time-only design. Crockett’s contemporary review found the display visually distinctive, while noting that legibility “could be a bit better.” That is a subjective review assessment, not a measured visibility test.

Simple functionality
The documented function is timekeeping by quartz movement. The available sources do not establish a chronograph, smart functions or other complications. Its appeal is therefore primarily the color, transparency and exposed movement, rather than a feature-rich specification sheet.
Water resistance: why the claims differ
The water-resistance record is inconsistent, and the sources should not be treated as interchangeable:

| Source and date | Claim | What it means for a buyer |
|---|---|---|
| Swatch Group Japan launch announcement, 10 May 2013 | 20 bar for the Scuba Libre collection | The same announcement explicitly cautioned that Scuba Libre was not recommended for actual scuba diving. |
| Swatch product finder, observed 2026 | 3 bar for CHLOROFISH SUUK100 | This is the live official listing, but it does not clarify whether the entry reflects the historical Scuba Libre or a later/current product record using the same name and code. |
The 20-bar figure is a collection-level launch claim, not evidence that an individual Chlorofish remains water-tight today. The current product finder’s 3-bar figure adds a material discrepancy rather than resolving it. Neither source verifies the condition, age or seal integrity of a particular watch, so do not rely on an older example for swimming or diving. The Japanese launch release contains the original warning; Swatch’s product finder entry carries the current code and listed specifications.
Size, movement and original price
Swatch Group Japan’s 2013 launch release gave the collection a 44 mm case diameter, 20-bar water resistance, a unidirectional rotating bezel and silicone strap. These are collection-level launch specifications, not confirmation that every Chlorofish variant or surviving example has identical details. The current Swatch finder result for CHLOROFISH SUUK100 states a 44.00 mm diameter and quartz movement.

The Japan release listed a launch price of ¥10,500 including tax. That is a historical Japanese price from 2013, not a current valuation or estimate of what a used watch should cost.
Who should consider the Chlorofish?
- Consider it if you want an expressive, transparent Swatch with a visible movement and uncomplicated quartz timekeeping.
- Look elsewhere if you need dependable underwater use, strong documented legibility, or complications beyond time display.
- Inspect carefully if buying secondhand: the model dates to 2013, and the sources do not establish the state of any particular watch’s case, strap, movement, battery or seals.
WatchPro’s January 2014 coverage reported that Scuba Libre was highly commended in its 2013 Trendsetting Watch of the Year category, noting the colored movements visible in models such as Chlorofish. That is editorial recognition, not an award win or evidence of consumer satisfaction. WatchPro’s report provides that dated context.

Buying a Swatch Scuba Libre Chlorofish today
For listing searches, use “Swatch Scuba Libre Chlorofish SUUK100 watch.” Confirm that a seller’s photos and description match the CHLOROFISH SUUK100 code where possible, and judge condition from the actual example rather than inferring it from launch-era specifications.

- Check the case and strap for damage, discoloration or signs of replacement.
- Ask whether the watch runs and whether its battery has been replaced; the available sources do not specify a battery-replacement interval or procedure.
- Do not accept the historical 20-bar claim as proof of present water resistance. The sources do not establish the condition of an individual watch’s seals.
- Compare the seller’s stated model code with the official CHLOROFISH SUUK100 product-finder entry, while recognizing that the live page does not explain the difference between its 3-bar figure and the 2013 collection claim.
