The Panerai Sylvester Stallone wore in The Expendables 2 was a PAM00382 Luminor Submersible 1950 Bronzo. Sotheby’s auctioned Stallone’s example on June 5, 2024, with an estimate of $30,000–$60,000. The sale is closed, and the accessible listing does not disclose a confirmed final price.
What Panerai did Stallone wear in The Expendables 2?
The watch was a Panerai Reference PAM00382 Luminor Submersible 1950, commonly called the Bronzo. Sotheby’s described its auction example as belonging to Stallone and as screen-worn in the film. Those provenance and screen-use details are Sotheby’s catalogue claims; they should not be treated as independent authentication.
Sotheby’s catalogue says the PAM00382 launched in 2011 as a limited edition of 1,000 pieces and was Panerai’s first sports watch crafted entirely from bronze. It also says the film was shot in 2011 and that several other actors wore the same model. The Stallone-associated watch was numbered N0000/1000, which Sotheby’s said suggests it could be the first example in the series.
Did Stallone’s Panerai sell at auction, and for how much?
Yes. Sotheby’s lot 47 closed on June 5, 2024. Its published estimate was $30,000–$60,000; that figure is an estimate, not a confirmed hammer price or realized result. The accessible Sotheby’s listing does not reveal the final price unless the reader logs in. Stallone’s official website also reported that Sotheby’s New York was to auction eleven watches from his personal collection that day, including four Panerai pieces: Sylvester Stallone’s official announcement.

What were the watch’s specifications and included items?
Sotheby’s described the lot as a 47 mm bronze and titanium watch with a green dial, automatic calibre P.9000 movement with 28 jewels, original strap and titanium Panerai buckle. The catalogue listed no box or papers.
Alongside the watch, the lot included:
- An additional special strap with two metal skulls and a brass fishtail buckle with a metal skull.
- Two personally signed The Expendables 2 posters.
- An original movie still featuring Stallone and the watch.
- A handwritten note signed by Stallone.

Is this the same watch as the Expendables 2 prop listed by Propstore?
No. Propstore separately catalogued a Barney Ross watch prop from The Expendables 2. Its listing described a prop designed to resemble a Panerai Luminor, with a gold-color stainless-steel face, green luminous markers and brown leather straps. Propstore noted loose strap screws and said functionality was unknown. That closed prop lot is distinct from the PAM00382 Sotheby’s described as Stallone’s personal, screen-worn watch.

What matters when comparing this example with an ordinary PAM00382?
The reference identifies the model, but it does not by itself establish Stallone ownership or film use. For any comparison, distinguish the specific provenance of this auction example from an ordinary watch of the same reference. Check the reference and edition details, provenance documents, condition and service history, completeness, and the seller’s or auction house’s authentication practices.
