The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 Day-Date WBN2010.BA0640 is a 41 mm steel automatic with day and date displays, 100 m water resistance and a stated 38-hour power reserve. It is a specification-led choice for buyers who want a classic Carrera layout and a steel bracelet, but its U.S. product page now marks it discontinued. That page’s displayed $4,050 price does not establish that the watch is in stock or show its current market value.
What is the WBN2010.BA0640?
WBN2010.BA0640 is the black-dial, steel-bracelet version of the 41 mm WBN-generation Carrera Day-Date. It runs TAG Heuer’s automatic Calibre 5 and displays hours, minutes, seconds, day and date. The design pairs a fixed steel bezel with a steel case and bracelet; the back is sapphire and steel. TAG Heuer specifies a folding clasp with push buttons.
The U.S. product listing identifies the reference as discontinued. Its displayed price is $4,050, but a price shown on a discontinued product page is not evidence of current stock, a current retail offer or a reliable second-hand valuation. TAG Heuer’s WBN2010.BA0640 listing is the reference point for the U.S. specifications and status.

What the design and specification mean for a buyer
Day-Date functionality
The day and date windows add everyday calendar information to the conventional hours, minutes and seconds display. The official description establishes the functions, but not a controlled assessment of dial legibility. Check the exact dial and window presentation in person or through detailed photographs if quick reading is a priority.
Case dimensions and fit
The listed diameter is 41 mm, with a 12.37 mm case thickness and 21.50 mm lug distance. Those numbers help compare it with a watch you already own, but do not by themselves predict how it will sit on a particular wrist. No wrist-size or comfort comparison is established here, so try it on if fit matters.
Rank #2
- Polished stainless steel case (41 mm in diameter, 13 mm thick), sapphire crystal screw-down case-back; blue brushed dial with applied tag heuer logo, silver-tone luminescent hands, silver-tone indices, sweep seconds hand
- Day and date windows displayed at the 3 o'clock position, scratch resistant sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment; swiss automatic movement, caliber 5, power reserve of 38 hours, water resistant to 10 M/100 M/330 feet; Brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet, push button deployment clasp

Water resistance
TAG Heuer lists 100 m water resistance. That is the published rating; it does not establish the condition of a pre-owned watch or the state of its seals today. For a used example, ask for service and water-resistance documentation rather than assuming the original rating remains intact.
Calibre 5 reserve
The stated 38-hour reserve is a key distinction from the later WDA-generation Day-Date. The WBN listing also specifies 4 Hz operation. Neither specification establishes the real-world accuracy of an individual watch; no independent timing test is available for this review.

WBN Day-Date references and variants

The prices below are Japan launch prices published in 2021, not current prices or global price guidance.

Verify the precise dial, strap and reference against the watch and its papers; family-level descriptions should not substitute for checking an individual listing. How the WBN differs from the newer WDA Day-Date
The WDA references shown in TAG Heuer’s April 2025 Carrera brochure are a separate generation, not alternate specifications for the WBN2010. The newer Day-Date uses the automatic manufacture Calibre TH31-02 and has an officially stated 80-hour reserve. The brochure gives it a 41 mm diameter and 100 m water resistance, with blue, black and smokey-red dial designs. It also shows a Victory Wreath caseback engraving, updated bracelets with easy-link adjustment and a self-interchangeable system for the newer leather strap.
| Feature | WBN Calibre 5 Day-Date | WDA Day-Date in the 2025 brochure |
|---|---|---|
| Movement | Automatic Calibre 5 | Automatic manufacture Calibre TH31-02 |
| Stated power reserve | 38 hours (WBN2010 U.S. listing) | 80 hours (2025 brochure) |
| Case diameter | 41 mm | 41 mm |
| Water resistance | 100 m | 100 m |
| Case thickness | 12.37 mm for WBN2010.BA0640 | Not stated in the cited 2025 brochure |
The newer model’s reserve and features should not be attributed to a WBN watch. The brochure specifies the WDA details; it does not establish that a WBN has been refreshed for 2026 or confirm local availability. For the newer-generation specifications, see TAG Heuer’s April 2025 Carrera brochure.
Is the WBN2010.BA0640 worth buying?
It may suit a buyer seeking a 41 mm Carrera with day-date functionality, a steel bracelet and a 100 m rating, who is comfortable buying a discontinued reference. The specifications provide a clear basis for comparison, but they do not establish accuracy, comfort, resale prospects or value against competing watches. Those questions depend on the individual example, its price and condition.
Compare the WBN with alternatives using the factors that can change the ownership decision:
- Movement and reserve: distinguish the WBN Calibre 5’s stated 38 hours from the WDA TH31-02’s 80 hours.
- Fit: compare the 41 mm diameter, 12.37 mm thickness and 21.50 mm lug distance with a watch that fits you well, then try the Carrera on if possible.
- Dial and reading: check the particular dial, hands and day-date display rather than relying on family-wide descriptions.
- Bracelet or strap: confirm which configuration is included and inspect its condition; do not assume one WBN reference’s strap setup applies to another.
- Condition and water resistance: review service history and, for a used watch expected to encounter water, request a recent water-resistance test.
- Local price and availability: compare actual offers in your region. Manufacturer page prices and historical launch prices are not evidence of current transaction values.
What to check when buying new-old-stock or used
Since TAG Heuer’s U.S. pages mark the WBN2010.BA0640 and WBN2013.BA0640 discontinued, buyers should establish exactly what is being offered instead of treating a product page as proof of new stock. A watch advertised as new-old-stock may still require careful checks of provenance, condition and seller terms.
Quick Recap
- Match the reference. Check the reference on the documentation and listing against the watch itself. Confirm whether it is WBN2010.BA0640, WBN2013.BA0640, a leather variant or another family member.
- Inspect condition. Request clear photographs of the case, bezel, crystal, bracelet or strap, clasp and caseback. Ask about polishing, damage, replacement parts and service history.
- Confirm what is included. Establish whether box, papers, spare bracelet links and the original strap or bracelet are present; do not assume they are included.
- Ask about testing and returns. For a pre-owned watch, ask whether it has been serviced and whether water resistance has been checked recently. Read the return terms before paying.
- Assess the seller and price. Check seller credentials and compare the actual offer with other local listings for the same reference and condition. The $4,050 and $4,250 shown on TAG Heuer’s U.S. pages are displayed page prices, not verified offers or a market-price dataset.
