Which Monaco does “McQueen” mean?
For this article, “McQueen” means TAG Heuer reference CAW211P, full catalogue reference CAW211P.FC6356, introduced in 2015. It is a modern re-edition associated with the actor’s Monaco, not the vintage Heuer Monaco 1133B he wore while filming Le Mans in 1970. That distinction matters when comparing listings: similar blue square cases do not make the 1133B, CAW211P and Calibre 12 CAW2111 interchangeable. The 2009 limited CAW211A is another separate reference.

What the design tells you—and what it cannot
The left-side crown
The crown sits on the left side of the case, a signature of this Calibre 11 Monaco configuration. TAG Heuer explains that the position originally signaled that manual winding was no longer needed. Square case and wrist fit
The 39 mm figure is the stated case diameter; it does not describe how the square case will wear on a particular wrist. Wrist presence also depends on the case’s height and overall dimensions, neither of which is established here. The number is therefore useful for reference identification, but not a substitute for trying the watch on.

The blue opaline dial and black calfskin strap are catalogue details. The supplied information does not establish replacement-strap compatibility dimensions, so check the exact reference and fit before buying another strap.
How CAW211P differs from the vintage 1133B and other re-editions
The Monaco’s McQueen connection runs through several generations. TAG Heuer’s history traces the 2003 blue-dial CW2113 re-edition to the color and layout of the film-associated watch; that model used Calibre 17. In 2009, the 40th-anniversary series introduced Calibre 12 versions and the first TAG Heuer Calibre 11 Monaco. The Calibre 11 version kept the left-side crown. The shared “Calibre 11” name should not be read as proof of identical mechanisms across decades. The CAW211P’s modern movement construction is distinct from the vintage Calibre 11; specialist coverage also notes its sapphire caseback. What “hands-on” can establish about this reference
Without a documented wrist-fit or operating test, the responsible assessment is limited to the reference’s published details and design. The case is specified at 39 mm and the crown is on the left; those facts do not establish comfort, accuracy, finishing quality, chronograph performance or water resistance under real-world conditions. For those questions, look for a test of the exact CAW211P rather than assuming that specifications or the McQueen association answer them.

Monochrome reported a €4,995 launch price for CAW211P in 2015. That is a historical figure for that period and market, not a current retail or resale price. Monochrome’s 2015 review

Before purchasing, confirm that the listing is for CAW211P.FC6356, not a visually similar Monaco, and compare the reference and included items against the seller’s documentation. A vintage 1133B and a later CAW211P answer different collecting priorities: period provenance versus a modern re-edition with contemporary construction.
