The TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph reference CBW2185.FC8350 pairs a 41 mm TH-Titanium case with the brand’s automatic Calibre TH81-00 and a rattrapante chronograph that can time two intervals at once. TAG Heuer lists a 65-hour power reserve, 5 Hz frequency and 30 m water resistance. Its US product page lists the price as “Price on demand,” rather than publishing a retail figure.
What makes this Monaco a split-seconds chronograph?
A split-seconds chronograph, also called a rattrapante, is designed to time two intervals concurrently. It can, for example, record a lap time while the main chronograph continues to track the overall event. That extra timing function distinguishes it from a conventional chronograph that records one elapsed interval at a time.

TAG Heuer’s 2024 explanation describes the TH81-00 as a titanium mechanical split-seconds movement. Carole Kasapi, the brand’s Movements Director, said of the project: “Our aim was to incorporate this mechanism into the TAG Heuer Monaco.” She also called split-seconds “the ‘queen of chronograph complications’” and said TAG Heuer had not previously reused the function in a wristwatch. TAG Heuer’s 2024 movement article gives the brand’s account of the complication and its history.

What are TH-Titanium and the movement?
Textured titanium case
The case is made from TH-Titanium, which TAG Heuer says was developed in-house by its TAG Heuer Lab. In a May 23, 2025 article, the brand attributes the material’s distinctive faceted pattern to a thermal process and says the pattern is unique to each watch. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent assessments of the material or its appearance on the wrist.
Rank #2
Calibre TH81-00
TAG Heuer says the movement was developed with Vaucher Manufacture. The brand’s 2025 feature gives the movement’s weight as 30 g and describes the 65-hour reserve and 5 Hz frequency. The current US product page lists the complete watch at 85 g; the May 2025 feature gives a total-watch weight of 86 g. These are different published figures, so they should not be treated as a single reconciled measurement.
The transparent sapphire dial and caseback expose the movement, while lime accents contrast with the dark strap and textured titanium. TAG Heuer presented the watch around the 2025 Formula 1 TAG Heuer Grand Prix de Monaco. The brand describes it as ultra-light; the published weight figures above provide the specific context for that claim. The May 23, 2025 TAG Heuer Magazine feature covers the launch and the brand’s material and movement descriptions.

How does it compare with other Monaco Split-Seconds models?
Several references share the complication but differ in case material and visual treatment. Their specifications should not be conflated with those of CBW2185.FC8350.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What does the 30 m water-resistance rating mean?
TAG Heuer specifies 30 m water resistance for CBW2185.FC8350. That is the published rating; it does not make this Monaco a dive watch, and the rating alone should not be read as a recommendation for a particular water activity. The brand’s listing does not provide a more specific activity-based use claim.
