TAG Heuer’s Official Magazine describes the 2017 Carrera as the first time the brand paired its proprietary Heuer-01 movement with Senna design codes. It was a milestone for that movement-and-design combination, not the beginning of the Senna watch line. The 2017 Carrera Heuer-01 Senna: CAR2A1L.BA0688
The reference to look for is CAR2A1L.BA0688. TAG Heuer describes it as a 45 mm automatic chronograph with a black brushed-steel appearance, red details, a skeleton dial and a sapphire caseback. Its current product page specifies the Calibre HEUER01 movement, black PVD-coated steel and ceramic construction, and 100 m water resistance; the page marks the model discontinued. How it differs from the Formula 1 Senna
Another Senna chronograph can be mistaken for the Carrera because both carry Senna branding. The Formula 1 Senna reference CAZ201D.BA0633 is a separate model: TAG Heuer’s US product page lists it as a 44 mm automatic Calibre 16 watch with 48 hours of power reserve and 200 m water resistance. The brand presents it as a contemporary reissue inspired by the first TAG Heuer chronograph Senna wore and the S/EL bracelet. TAG Heuer’s 2022 Formula 1 Senna brochure describes that special edition with an anthracite sunray-brushed dial bearing Senna’s S, the Senna name on a ceramic tachymeter bezel, an engraved helmet on the caseback, and a brushed-steel bracelet in the signature S pattern.
