The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M “Big Blue,” reference 215.92.46.22.03.001, is a 45.5 mm blue-ceramic dive watch with a blue rubber strap and a self-winding GMT movement. Its bold orange accents and substantial dimensions make it distinctive; the same dimensions make trying it on important. Omega specifies 600 m water resistance and a 60-hour power reserve, while WatchCharts labels the model discontinued and estimated its Canadian market value at C$10,372 on September 9, 2026.

Which Omega Big Blue is this?

This article covers the blue-ceramic Planet Ocean 600M GMT on a blue rubber strap: reference 215.92.46.22.03.001. Omega’s product sheet identifies a blue ceramic case, blue dial, blue rubber strap and ceramic foldover clasp. Omega lists an approximate total product weight of 141 g and a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Omega product sheet

There is a related blue-ceramic Big Blue on a leather strap, reference 215.98.46.22.03.001. It is a different reference, so check the complete number rather than relying on the “Big Blue” name alone. Omega’s leather-strap model listing

Planet Ocean Big Blue size: more than just 45.5 mm

Omega lists a 45.5 mm case diameter, but the other dimensions help explain the watch’s presence on the wrist. It is 51.50 mm from lug to lug and 17.38 mm thick, with 22 mm between the lugs. Those are substantial measurements; there is no universal wrist-size cutoff that determines whether it will suit you. If possible, try the watch on and assess how the full lug-to-lug length and height sit on your wrist, not just how the diameter looks on paper. Omega product sheet

Blue ceramic, with orange where it counts

The Big Blue’s color scheme is functional-looking but deliberately vivid: blue ceramic and a blue dial set off by orange on the bezel and small details. A 2019 hands-on account says Omega introduced the blue-and-orange ceramic GMT Planet Ocean at Baselworld in 2017. It describes the first 15 minutes of the bezel as a combination of orange rubber and ceramic, with orange rubber details also on the crown logo and helium escape valve symbol. The article relays Omega’s wording; it is not a direct interview quotation. Dive into Watches, “Hands-On: Omega Planet Ocean GMT ‘Big Blue’”

What the 8906 GMT movement does

Omega equips this reference with calibre 8906, a self-winding movement with GMT and time-zone functions. For a traveler, the practical point is that the watch is designed to track a second time zone as well as local time; Omega lists both GMT and time-zone functions, though the product sheet does not spell out a particular setting sequence. It also lists a date display.

The manufacturer specifies a 60-hour power reserve, a Co-Axial escapement, a silicon balance spring, two barrels mounted in series and automatic winding in both directions. The rotor and bridges are rhodium-plated and finished with arabesque Geneva waves. Omega says the movement resists magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and identifies the watch as Master Chronometer certified and approved by METAS. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements for this article. Omega product sheet

What “600 m” means in this watch’s specification

Omega rates the Big Blue at 60 bar, equivalent in its product sheet to 600 metres or 2,000 feet. The listed dive-watch features also include a screw-in crown, a unidirectional rotating bezel and a helium escape valve. These are the manufacturer’s stated specifications; they should not be read as a claim that this particular watch has been independently tested here or that its rating guarantees suitability for every underwater activity. Is the Big Blue too big?

Its 45.5 mm diameter, 51.50 mm lug-to-lug length and 17.38 mm thickness make it a large, tall watch by the numbers. Whether that feels oversized depends on your wrist, preferred fit and tolerance for a watch with noticeable height. The 141 g approximate product weight may also be useful context, although the sheet does not specify a weighing method or condition. Try it on if you can; a diameter comparison alone cannot predict how the case will sit or feel.

Discontinued status and the Canadian estimate

WatchCharts’ Canadian model page labels reference 215.92.46.22.03.001 discontinued and gave a market estimate of C$10,372 as of September 9, 2026. That is a third-party estimate for Canada, not a live listing, completed sale price or guaranteed value. It should not be treated as a current quote or applied to a different region, condition or configuration. WatchCharts Canada model page

What to check when buying one

Because the name can refer to more than one configuration and the model is listed as discontinued, verify the details of the individual watch rather than assuming every listing matches the rubber-strap reference.
