How to judge the best watches at the 2025 Oscars
Red-carpet watch spotting is a mix of design, styling and provenance, not a controlled comparison. The most interesting examples at the ceremony stand out in different ways: some have an unusual or archival character, some make precious materials the main event, and others show how a sport-oriented watch can sit alongside formal clothes. Celebrity-brand partnerships are also part of the context; a watch spotted on a celebrity should not automatically be read as an independent product endorsement.

Domingo wore an off-catalog, made-to-order Speedmaster Moonwatch set with baguette-cut diamonds, in Canopus Gold, according to GQ. GQ reported a price of $160,000 for this commissioned watch in 2025. That figure describes Domingo’s bespoke piece, not a standard production Moonwatch or a current retail price. Edward Norton’s Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222: steel with a design past
Norton wore a steel Historiques 222, a revival of Vacheron Constantin’s 1977 design. Its integrated-bracelet silhouette gives the watch a sportier character than a conventional dress watch while remaining polished enough for eveningwear.
