This is a personal selection, not a test-based or universal ranking: as Daan puts it, “These are my favorite watches released this year.”
How to read Daan’s 2025 watch picks
Daan’s choices reflect what appealed to him: wrist fit, case dimensions, materials, dial design, movement or convenience, and individual style. They span very different kinds of watches, so the order is best understood as his preference—not a scorecard or a direct comparison of value.
His list appeared in Fratello on December 16, 2025. The details and availability statements below are attributed to that article; current prices, specifications and stock have not been independently verified here.
Daan de Groot’s five favorite watches of 2025
1. Parmigiani Toric Quantième Perpétuel in platinum
Daan names the Toric Quantième Perpétuel with a Morning Blue dial as his absolute favorite. He highlights its original design, finishing and dial color, along with the fit of its 40.6 mm platinum case on his 17 cm wrist. He also favors its hand-wound movement.
#1 Best Overall
He says it would be a strong contender if he ever spent €100,000 on a watch. That is a personal hypothetical, not a verified price or a market valuation.
2. MB&F SP One
The SP One appeals to Daan for its 38 mm open-worked case and blue flange. He likes the way it combines a classic round case and regular lugs with MB&F’s more unusual horological-machine aesthetic. His praise is personal; he does not assign it a score or compare it through a formal test.
Rank #2
3. Sartory Billard × Studio Underd0g SB05 Sunfl0wer
Daan singles out the gold-and-brown dial, its guilloché pattern and the green stems on the hands. He reports that this was a 10-piece limited edition that sold out quickly. That is the availability status described in the 2025 article, not confirmation of current stock or resale availability.
4. Echo/Neutra Rivanera Piccolo
Daan prefers the smaller Rivanera Piccolo, saying its 33 mm lug span suited his 17 cm wrist. The Musou Black dial is a particular draw for him. His one design wish is to see it offered on other straps.

5. Tissot PRX Titanium 38mm
For Daan, 38 mm is the preferred middle ground: he found the 35 mm PRX a little small and the 40 mm version not quite right on his wrist. He also points to the titanium construction, blue dial, 100 m water resistance and 80-hour power reserve. These are details reported in his article, not an independent specification check.
Daan says he had not bought the watch and had not received the blue-dial version for review. His selection should therefore be read as an expression of preference, not a hands-on verdict on that specific variant.
Other 2025 releases Daan mentions
The five watches above are his final picks. Daan also acknowledges colleagues’ selections: the Laventure Marine Type 3, IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 Top Gun Mojave Desert and Angelus Chronographe Télémètre. Among other releases he mentions are the anOrdain Model 2, Paulin Mara Dive, Serica 6190 TXD, TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph, Singer Caballero and Ming’s Polymesh bracelet or strap.
These mentions are not additional entries in his final five. On availability, the article says the SB05 sold out quickly and that the particular TAG Heuer version Daan liked might have been limited and might already have sold out; he also notes that other versions existed. Those statements do not establish what can be bought now.

What the list says about Daan’s taste
- Fit matters: wrist feel shapes his preferences for the Parmigiani, Echo/Neutra and Tissot, with his 17 cm wrist explicitly part of the first and fourth choices.
- Distinctive dials stand out: Morning Blue, the SP One’s blue flange, the SB05’s gold-and-brown guilloché, the Piccolo’s Musou Black and the PRX’s blue dial all figure in his reasoning.
- There is no single style or price bracket: the selection moves from a platinum perpetual calendar to a titanium integrated-bracelet sports watch.
- Convenience and mechanics both count: Daan notes the Parmigiani’s hand-wound movement and the PRX’s stated 80-hour power reserve, but does not turn either into a standardized performance comparison.
