What is the Fratello × REM Apollo XIII strap?
It is a mission-themed watch strap created by Fratello with Swedish strap maker REM Straps. In the April 30, 2024 announcement, Fratello described a black organic leather strap with gray stitching and filled engraving. The design is based on the official NASA Apollo XIII mission patch.
The strap’s long side depicts three horses crossing the Moon with the Sun above them. The short side is engraved with “Ex Luna, Scientia,” Latin for “From the Moon, Knowledge.”
How does the Apollo XIII design relate to the mission patch?
Fratello identifies Lumen Martin Winter as the patch’s artist and says he based it on a mural he painted for the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. Fratello’s account of the symbolism, which it attributes to NASA archives, says Apollo is represented by the Sun and the three horses driving his chariot across the Moon represent Apollo flights extending the light of knowledge to all mankind. This is Fratello’s reported explanation of the patch, rather than a separately verified NASA source.

Which Omega Speedmaster models did Fratello say it fits?
Fratello said the strap should suit several Speedmaster Professional models, including the three Silver Snoopy Award editions Omega released from 2003 through 2020, the 1995 Speedmaster Professional Apollo XIII limited edition, and standard black- or white-dial Moonwatches. The pictured watch was the standard Hesalite Moonwatch, reference 310.30.42.50.01.001.

Fratello listed the strap at €107 excluding VAT and said it was available through the Fratello shop when the announcement appeared on April 30, 2024. The article also said REM straps were generally produced in limited quantities and that Fratello planned restocks during 2024. Those dated statements do not establish a current price or whether the Apollo XIII strap is in stock now.
