“Overlooked” is a point of view, not a measured popularity ranking. In his 2021 Fratello Watches article, Lex Stolk used the phrase for integrated-bracelet sports watches that sit beyond the familiar Royal Oak and Nautilus conversation. The examples range from the Chopard Alpine Eagle and Czapek Antarctique to the more accessible Tissot PRX; their 2021 prices and specifications make a useful historical comparison, not a guide to what these watches cost or whether they are available today.
What makes an integrated-bracelet sports watch?
In this style, the bracelet flows directly from the case, with the two designed to read as a coordinated whole. That can give a watch a sporty but refined character, and the bracelet’s fit and articulation matter as much as the dial or movement. The format is not a single price tier or technical recipe: it includes simple time-only watches, chronographs, worldtimers and ultra-thin GMTs, in steel, titanium, gold and other materials.
That breadth is why “beyond the Big Three” is a helpful framing rather than a claim that one watch is a substitute for another. A 2021 Hodinkee comparison described the Tissot PRX as its “steal” and the Alpine Eagle as its “splurge,” while emphasizing the integrated construction’s versatile, sporty-refined character. Its quoted US prices differ from the euro prices in Fratello’s article: Hodinkee listed the PRX 40 205 at $375 and the Alpine Eagle at $12,900.

| Watch | 2021 price reported by Fratello | Details highlighted in the article |
|---|---|---|
| Chopard Alpine Eagle Large, 41mm | €12,800 (Lucent Steel A233 version) | Eagle-eye-inspired dial, feather-inspired hands and bezel secured by eight polished screws. |
| Chopard Alpine Eagle Chronograph, 44mm | €19,100 | Chronograph version of the Alpine Eagle; Fratello’s quoted passage gives this price. |
| Czapek Antarctique | CHF 18,570 for other Antarctique models | Fratello recounted that its collaboration edition sold out in just under 40 minutes; that is the article’s account of that edition, not a general measure of demand. |
| H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds, 40mm | CHF 19,900 | Green fumé dial and automatic HMC 200 movement. |
| Piaget Polo S | €12,100 | Named among the integrated-bracelet alternatives; further specifications are not given in the cited passage. |
| Bvlgari Octo Finissimo GMT, titanium | €17,400 | A GMT option in titanium. |
| Hublot Big Bang Integral | €20,700 in titanium to €51,800 in King Gold | The reported range spans different case materials. |
| Bell & Ross BR-05 | Not stated in the cited passage | Named as a related integrated-bracelet sports-watch option. |
| Maurice Lacroix Aikon | Not stated in the cited passage | Named as a related integrated-bracelet sports-watch option. |
| Frederique Constant Highlife Automatic COSC | Not stated in the cited passage | Named as a related integrated-bracelet sports-watch option. |
| Citizen Series 8 | Not stated in the cited passage | Named as a related integrated-bracelet sports-watch option. |
These prices are not interchangeable across currencies or sources. For example, Hodinkee gave the 41mm Alpine Eagle in the United States a 2021 price of $12,900 and specifically highlighted Lucent Steel A223 and Chopard’s in-house caliber 01.01-C. That is a separate historical US-dollar figure, not a conversion of Fratello’s €12,800 A233 listing.
What else appeared in the 2021 field?
Other contemporary coverage shows how wide the category had become. Monochrome’s October 10, 2021 guide reported the following specifications and prices; they describe particular models in that guide, not necessarily the same references as Fratello’s list.

For additional chronograph context, Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie’s March 12, 2021 roundup described the Bell & Ross BR05 Chrono as a 42mm steel integrated-bracelet chronograph. It also listed the Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono as a 44mm model with a COSC-certified 03.05-C movement and 60-hour reserve, and included the Hublot Big Bang Integral Grey Ceramic.

How to compare these watches beyond the price
A useful shortlist starts with the watch’s purpose and fit, then checks what the movement and construction offer. Headline price alone conceals substantial differences between these references.
- Case and bracelet fit: Compare case diameter and thickness where stated, but also how the bracelet articulates and whether its integrated design suits your wrist. The sources give dimensions for some watches, not all.
- Movement and reserve: Distinguish automatic from hand-wound movements, and look at the stated power reserve when it is available. The cited figures range from 60 hours for the Citizen Caliber 0200 and Chopard 03.05-C to 168 hours for the Streamliner Perpetual Calendar.
- Complication: Decide whether you want straightforward time display, a chronograph, GMT, worldtimer, pointer date or perpetual calendar. These serve different needs and add different levels of mechanical complexity.
- Material and finishing: Steel, titanium and gold change the watch’s look and wearing character as well as its price. The Fratello Hublot range, for example, distinguishes titanium from King Gold rather than presenting one universal price.
- Price context: Keep each figure attached to its source, currency, region and reference. A 2021 euro list price, a 2021 Swiss-franc figure and a US-dollar price from another publication are historical snapshots, not apples-to-apples current offers.
Which options suit different priorities?
If you want an accessible point of comparison
The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is the clear lower-priced reference in Monochrome’s 2021 examples, starting at €650 in that guide. Its 80-hour reserve is a concrete specification to compare with the more expensive alternatives. The figure is historical, and the PRX is not a direct technical equivalent to the higher-end watches.

If you want a distinctive design in a luxury sports watch
The Alpine Eagle’s dial and hand inspirations, Lucent Steel construction and distinctive bezel details give it a strong visual identity. Fratello’s €12,800 figure applies to the 41mm Lucent Steel A233 version in its article; Hodinkee’s separate US comparison discusses a 41mm A223 version and caliber 01.01-C.
If movement or complication matters most
The examples offer very different propositions: a GMT in the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, a worldtimer with pointer date in the Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture, and a perpetual calendar in the Streamliner. Compare the exact reference and its movement rather than assuming that a shared bracelet style makes these watches equivalent.

If you want a less familiar name
Czapek Antarctique and H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner are among Fratello’s central “shadow warrior” examples; Piaget, Bvlgari, Hublot, Bell & Ross, Maurice Lacroix, Frederique Constant and Citizen broaden the field further. The available 2021 passages do not give a complete price or specification set for every named watch, so a fair comparison requires a specific reference and a current source.
What the 2021 prices can—and cannot—tell you
The cited articles establish a historical snapshot of list prices and selected product specifications. They do not establish 2026 prices, current production status, stock, resale values or market popularity. Nor does a reported sellout of one Czapek collaboration edition prove broad consumer demand. Treat “most often overlooked” as Stolk’s editorial lens: the material supports a varied set of alternatives, not a statistical ranking of which watches buyers notice least.
