The NOVE Gemini J001-02 makes the reversible-dial idea do more than change a watch’s appearance: its lever-operated assembly flips between two independently set faces, so each can show a different time zone. The trade-off is scale. Time+Tide’s 2022 review gives it a 49.2 mm diameter and 60.3 mm lug-to-lug length, making it an unusually large and mechanically elaborate way to carry dual time.
How the Gemini’s reversible dial works
Instead of turning a conventional reversible case around a hinge, the Gemini uses a lever-operated mechanism to lift and rotate its two-dial assembly, then lock it back into place. Time+Tide’s 2022 review describes exposed gearing and reports that the mechanism contains 180 hand-assembled components. The display is therefore the moving dial assembly itself, not simply a second side revealed by rotating an ordinary watch case.
The idea sits in the broader lineage of reversible watches, which Time+Tide compares with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso and Cartier Tank Basculante. Those are historical reference points, not like-for-like dual-time alternatives: the Gemini’s defining distinction is its particular lever-and-gear arrangement and its two independently driven faces.
Does it show two time zones?
Yes. The two faces have separate movements and can be set independently, allowing one time to remain on each side. Flip the assembly to read the other display. Time+Tide identifies the two movements as Swiss Ronda quartz calibres and describes the watch as offering two time zones across two reversible rotating dials. This is functional dual time, rather than one dial presented in two different styles.

Two contrasting faces, one steel watch
Time+Tide describes a 316L stainless-steel case, sapphire crystals, and an integrated H-link bracelet. The black-dial side has a polished bezel with exposed screws; the reverse has a radially brushed bezel without visible screws. The reviewer describes the red face as fumé-finished with dot markers, while the glossy black face has a small-seconds subdial and sword hands. These are review observations, not a guarantee of how every wearer will judge legibility or finish.
Dimensions and wrist presence
Time+Tide’s 2022 review lists the Gemini at 49.2 mm across, 60.3 mm lug-to-lug, and 13.3 mm thick. Its short lugs turn downward, but the length and width still make this a substantial watch. The reviewer felt its size could limit its maneuverability in dressier settings; that is an individual assessment, not a universal wrist-fit verdict. Anyone considering it should compare the 60.3 mm lug-to-lug figure with a watch they already find comfortable.

Price, warranty, and battery-life context
Price information has changed since the review. Time+Tide printed US$880 in its article dated 10 February 2022; NOVE’s official collection page lists the Gemini J001-02 at US$1,050 USD as accessed in 2026. The older review price is historical, not the current official listing.
NOVE’s collection page states a standard 36-month warranty. The 2022 review also reported a three-year warranty and quoted six-year battery life, but that battery-life figure is from the review and is not confirmed on the current official collection page. NOVE’s page also states worldwide free shipping and a 14-day money-back guarantee; store terms can change, so check the current listing before ordering.

Who is the Gemini for?
The Gemini is most compelling for someone who wants an unusual mechanical display and genuinely needs two independently set times on one watch. Its flipping action, exposed gearing, and contrasting faces make the mechanism central to the experience. It is a less natural choice for a buyer prioritizing compact proportions or a discreet dress watch, given the dimensions reported in the review.
For a comparison with other reversible watches, focus on how each mechanism turns or reveals the dial, whether it displays a second independently set time, case dimensions, movement type, and current warranty and price. The Reverso and Tank Basculante provide useful historical context, but the cited review does not establish them as direct dual-time competitors or provide current comparable specifications.
