The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition stands apart from the regular Diver 300M most clearly in three details: a grade-5 titanium bezel, a black ceramic wave dial, and a closed caseback embossed with a Nekton submarine medallion. The steel-bracelet model is reference 210.30.42.20.01.002; the rubber-strap version is 210.32.42.20.01.002. OMEGA lists a 42 mm case, calibre 8806 and 300 m water resistance. The name also signals the watch’s connection to ocean-protection organization Nekton, though the available sources do not establish a donation or conservation result tied to each watch sold.
What is the Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition?
It is a special edition of OMEGA’s Seamaster Diver 300M, produced in support of Nekton, which OMEGA describes as a non-profit research foundation dedicated to protecting and managing the world’s oceans. The steel-bracelet version is the closest match to the title: reference 210.30.42.20.01.002. OMEGA also lists a rubber-strap version, reference 210.32.42.20.01.002. OMEGA’s Taiwan product page identifies the steel model; Hodinkee’s launch coverage discusses both variants.
The Nekton is not a separate dive-watch platform: the launch coverage says it retains the broader Diver 300M specification set. Its identity comes from the edition-specific materials and finishing, and from its association with the ocean organization.
What makes it look different from a regular Diver 300M?
Titanium bezel and familiar wave dial
OMEGA specifies a unidirectional bezel in grade-5 titanium, with a laser-ablated diving scale. The black ceramic dial is also laser-ablated and has raised, polished wave detailing. Those waves connect the watch visually to the Diver 300M family, while the titanium bezel gives the Nekton a distinct material contrast.

The bezel is not ceramic: OMEGA identifies it as grade-5 titanium. That distinction is easy to miss when the edition is described alongside the ceramic dial.
A medallion instead of a display back
The closed caseback carries an embossed Nekton submarine medallion. It is an edition-specific mark, not a view of the movement. OMEGA lists a screw-in crown and helium escape valve among the watch’s features.

OMEGA’s official product specifications, accessed in 2026, list these figures for the steel-bracelet Nekton:

The 49.9 mm lug-to-lug measurement is useful alongside the 42 mm case diameter when judging proportions, but dimensions alone cannot predict how the watch will sit on a particular wrist. OMEGA specifies 20 mm between the lugs; check the exact strap or bracelet interface before buying an alternative strap.

OMEGA says calibre 8806 is recognized as a Master Chronometer by METAS and can resist magnetic fields over 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss). Hodinkee’s launch-era specification summary additionally lists a 3.5 Hz frequency and 35 jewels. Certification and published specifications describe the movement and its testing standard; they are not a guarantee of a particular individual watch’s timekeeping results.
The 300 m rating is a product specification, not a substitute for dive training, suitable equipment, or safe diving practice. It should not be read as advice that every wearer or use case is automatically appropriate for professional diving.

What does the Nekton partnership mean?
OMEGA says the edition was made in support of Nekton. In its launch coverage, Hodinkee reported Nekton’s goal of protecting at least 30% of the ocean by 2030. That is organizational mission context, not evidence that a particular watch purchase produced a measured conservation outcome.
The cited sources do not state a donation amount per watch or quantify the conservation impact of sales. The Nekton name and caseback medallion establish an association; they do not, by themselves, show how much support a sale provided.

Is the Nekton still available, and what does it cost?
Availability and displayed prices depend on location and seller. OMEGA’s Taiwan regional page showed the steel model at NT$235,000 while marking it unavailable for online purchase when accessed in 2026. That status applies to that regional page, not necessarily to OMEGA worldwide. A US Watches of Switzerland page displayed $8,000 when accessed in 2026; it is a retailer listing, and its availability or price can change.
For context only, Hodinkee reported launch-era US prices of $6,150 for the steel bracelet and $5,850 for rubber. Those are historical launch prices, not current quotes. The regional OMEGA listing, US retailer price, and historical launch prices describe different contexts and should not be treated as a direct comparison or a universal market value.
What to verify when looking for one
If a listing catches your eye, use the reference and configuration to confirm exactly which Nekton is being offered. Then check the seller’s documentation and the watch’s condition rather than assuming the edition details or current availability from a product title alone.
