Rado’s 2025 Captain Cook Over-Pole Limited Edition, reference R32193018, pairs a yellow-gold-tone PVD case and bracelet with a manually wound world-time display. Its rotating city bezel lets you set a reference city and read the time in other listed cities against a 24-hour dial scale. Fratello reported 1,962 numbered pieces and regional prices in March 2025; those prices and current availability have not been verified here.
What the Over-Pole’s city bezel does
The Over-Pole is a world-time watch, not a conventional dive watch with an elapsed-time bezel. Its bidirectional bezel has a black ceramic insert marked with gold-lacquered city names. Align the city for which you know the local time with the corresponding time, then use the dial’s 24-hour scale to read the time in the other cities. This is a practical reference for the places printed on the bezel, rather than a display of every time zone or a mechanism that updates the time automatically.
Fratello’s Michael Stockton explained the setup this way: “To use the bezel, simply line up the appropriate city with the current time in that locale.” The design takes its cue from vintage Rado Over-Pole examples; Fratello’s March 13, 2025 article says Rado headquarters supplied original catalog scans for its historical comparison. What changed from the 2022 steel Over-Pole
The core concept and specifications are described as nearly identical to the 2022 stainless-steel Over-Pole, released for the model’s 60th anniversary. The most visible change is the finish and dial: the 2025 limited edition has a stainless-steel case coated in yellow-gold-tone PVD, a silver sunray dial and gold-colored applied indexes. Fratello describes the earlier steel model as having a smoky fumé dial.

The gold version is the warmer, more conspicuous choice; the steel model offers a cooler, less ornamented look. The available source describes their specifications as nearly identical but does not provide a complete side-by-side specification sheet for the 2022 watch.
Case size, materials and included wear options
Fratello lists the gold edition at 39 mm in diameter and 10.9 mm thick. Its specification list and later fit discussion give a 45.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement, although one passage in the article says 45 mm. The small discrepancy is worth noting when comparing fit; 45.5 mm is the figure in the specification list.

Other specifications reported by Fratello include a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a date display, and water resistance of 10 bar (100 m). That rating is a stated specification, not an independent assessment of real-world water performance.
The package includes a brown leather strap and a gold-tone PVD beads-of-rice bracelet. Fratello says both use quick-release spring bars, making it possible to switch between the supplied options without a tool. No replacement-part dimensions or independent aftermarket compatibility are established by the cited report.

Manual-winding R862 movement
The Rado R862 is manually wound and described by Fratello as based on the ETA 2804. Its reported specifications are:
- 17 jewels and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour
- An 80-hour power reserve
- A Nivachron hairspring
- Adjustment to five positions
The movement can be seen through the display back. Manual winding means the watch does not replenish its power reserve through wrist motion: the wearer must wind it. That suits someone who enjoys interacting with a mechanical watch, but may be less convenient than an automatic watch for a wearer who prefers not to wind regularly. The cited report does not establish independent accuracy or winding-feel test results.
