Michael Stockton’s three-year ownership review of the Sinn T2 EZM 15 is positive, but not unqualified: he praised its lightness, comfort and understated versatility, while noting a loose-feeling bracelet extension, slight bezel misalignment and clasp scratches. His account was published by Fratello on October 3, 2016, so it is a dated owner’s perspective—not a current hands-on test or a guarantee about every used T2.
What the T2 is—and what this review can tell you
The Sinn T2 is a 41 mm titanium diver from the T1/T2 family. Fratello reported 2,000 m water resistance for the model in 2016. Introduced in 2013, it was later discontinued; Fratello’s 2023 retrospective described it as a niche watch that had been quietly out of production for several years. The T2 is therefore best considered as a used-watch prospect, not a current new-model choice.
Stockton’s review describes his own experience over roughly three years of ownership. It is useful for understanding how the watch wore and which details bothered him, but it does not establish long-term reliability across the model or the condition of any particular example.
What Sinn and the reviewer report about the watch
Sinn’s T1/T2 booklet identifies the case parts as bead-blasted, high-strength titanium. In the 2016 review, Stockton describes a Tegiment-hardened bezel, Sinn Ar-dehumidifying technology, an anti-reflective crystal, and screw-down crown and caseback. He reports two differently colored luminous materials for the hour and minute hands, and identifies the movement as a Soprod A10-2 with hacking, shock resistance and anti-magnetism.

These are the reported specifications and features; they should not be taken as a substitute for checking a specific watch. In particular, a model’s stated depth rating does not show that a decades-old or previously used example remains water-resistant today.
What held up in three years of wear
Stockton’s strongest praise is practical. He found the titanium T2 exceptionally light and comfortable, even in hot, humid conditions. He liked its case shape, subdued appearance and dial, and said it suited a range of settings. It became a go-to when he wanted a rugged, easy-to-use watch that did not call much attention to itself.

That is one owner’s account, not a consensus measure. He also said he wore it only occasionally by the time he wrote the review, which matters when weighing his experience as evidence of frequent-wear durability.
The reservations to keep in mind
- Bracelet extension: Stockton felt the wetsuit extension was too easy to deploy. Check that the extension and clasp operate securely on the individual watch.
- Bezel alignment: He thought the bezel sat slightly off the 12 o’clock mark. Inspect alignment and rotation in person, rather than assuming every example shares the issue.
- Clasp wear: The clasp picked up scratches during desk wear. That is a cosmetic concern for buyers who expect a pristine finish, even with ordinary use.
These are specific observations from his watch, not evidence of a model-wide defect. They are nonetheless useful points to inspect on a secondhand example.

Straps, the T50 and the T2’s design lineage
Stockton tried the T2 on 20 mm NATO straps and considered Sinn’s silicone strap. If changing straps, confirm the exact fit for the watch and its attachment hardware; a nominal strap width alone does not establish compatibility.
Fratello’s 2023 retrospective connects the T2’s titanium construction and push-down-and-turn scalloped bezel to the design lineage of the IWC × Porsche Design Ocean 2000, noting that Sinn owner Lothar Schmidt had overseen that program. This is historical context, not a claim that the watches are identical.

The retrospective presents the T50 as a later related line, not a T2 with unchanged specifications. It gives the T50 a 500 m rating, compared with the T2’s reported 2,000 m. For a buyer choosing between them, the depth ratings alone are not an everyday-use recommendation: consider case dimensions and wearability, titanium construction, bezel operation, legibility, availability and whether you prefer a discontinued older design or a later model.

Fratello reported that the bracelet-equipped configuration reviewed retailed for €2,645 in Germany in 2016, up from an initial €2,440 in 2013. These are historical figures, not current asking prices or estimates of resale value. The article does not establish today’s market price, and the 2023 retrospective says the discontinued T2 was not easy to find.

How to assess a used Sinn T2
Because the T2 was discontinued and is a dive watch, the condition of the individual example matters more than its original depth rating. Before buying, check:
- the exact reference and configuration; references 1015.010 and 1015.011 are listed by the secondary Titanium Field Guide, but confirm the reference against the watch and its documentation;
- case, crystal, bezel and clasp condition, including bezel alignment and action;
- bracelet fit, extension and clasp function, especially if you plan to wear it over a wetsuit;
- service records and whether a qualified provider can service and pressure-test that specific example;
- a recent water-resistance test appropriate to the watch’s condition before relying on it in water; and
- availability and exact fit of any replacement bracelet or strap you intend to use.
These are practical checks for evaluating a used dive watch, not a formal Sinn inspection list or a claimed service interval. Sinn Japan’s certification information does not, in the material available here, provide a model-specific dive-test report for a particular T2. A historic rating is not proof of current water resistance.
Is the Sinn T2 worth buying used?
Stockton’s answer in 2016 was unequivocal: “Would I buy the Sinn T2 today? Absolutely.” For a prospective buyer now, that is a favorable but dated personal verdict. The qualities he valued—low weight, comfort, versatility and quiet styling—make the T2 appealing if those are your priorities. The reported extension, alignment and clasp issues are reasons to inspect carefully, not grounds to assume every T2 has the same faults.
A used T2 makes most sense for someone who specifically wants this discontinued 41 mm titanium design and can verify the condition of the example in hand. Do not use the old German retail figures as a current price benchmark, or treat the 2,000 m rating as a substitute for a recent pressure test.
