MB&F Legacy Machine Sequential EVO: two timers, more ways to use them
MB&F describes the Legacy Machine Sequential EVO as its first chronograph wristwatch. Its defining feature is that the two chronographs can start, stop and reset independently. The Twinverter binary switch connects those timers in different ways, making this the most mechanically unconventional of the three.

What the Twinverter lets you time
- Independent timing: operate the two chronographs separately.
- Split-second timing: use the two timers to record a split or compare elapsed intervals.
- Sequential timing: switch between timers for successive intervals, such as laps.
- Cumulative timing: track separate turns in a game such as chess.
The cited EVO specification pairs a 44 mm zirconium case with a height of 18.2 mm, 80 m water resistance and a 72-hour reserve. The hand-wound movement contains 585 components, according to MB&F. MB&F also offers a separate Sequential Flyback edition; that edition’s flyback feature should not be assumed to apply to every EVO reference.

Blancpain Air Command: flyback timing in a pilot-style watch
A flyback chronograph can reset and restart the timing operation with a single press, rather than requiring separate stop, reset and start actions. That makes it useful when measuring consecutive intervals. The Air Command also pairs its chronograph with a countdown bezel.
Blancpain presents the collection as a modern revival inspired by 1950s military aviation. That historical framing is the brand’s account of the collection’s design provenance. The cited titanium AC02 12B40 63A measures 42.5 mm across and 13.7 mm thick. Blancpain specifies 3 bar water resistance, automatic calibre F388B, a frequency of 5 Hz and a 50-hour power reserve. The water-resistance figure is a practical constraint to consider; the Air Command is not a dive watch.

OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional: conventional elapsed-time recording
The named reference, 310.30.42.50.01.001, is a 42 mm Moonwatch Professional powered by OMEGA calibre 3861. Its chronograph uses a central timing hand, with small-seconds and 30-minute and 12-hour recorder indications. That arrangement suits straightforward elapsed-time recording rather than the dual-timer modes of the MB&F or the quick reset-and-restart operation of the Blancpain.

Which one fits the timing you care about?
- Choose the feature set to explore if you need two timers: the Sequential EVO’s independent chronographs and switching modes cover split, sequential and cumulative timing.
- Look at the Air Command if you regularly restart timing: its flyback operation is built for consecutive intervals, while its 3 bar rating is a limitation to weigh for water exposure.
- Consider the Moonwatch if you want a conventional elapsed-time layout: its central chronograph and minute-and-hour recorders provide the most familiar approach of these three.
