The key takeaway is to check the model number before comparing specifications: Timex India lists Allied references with different case sizes, bands and water-resistance ratings.
Where the Allied fits in Timex Archive
A 2018 Maxim feature presents Timex Archive as a retro-inspired collection organized into Offspring, Pioneers and Metropolis. It describes Metropolis as urban-utility styling, with metal cases and bold designs, and includes Allied and Allied Chrono in that group. The classification is not consistent within the article, however: it also lists Allied Chrono under Pioneers. Treat the family association as historical context, not as proof that every Allied Chrono reference belongs to one clearly defined collection tier.
The same article reported 2018 prices of $140 for Allied and $170 for Allied Chrono. Those figures are historical and do not establish current retail prices, availability or value.
Allied specifications depend on the reference
Timex India’s official listings illustrate why the model number matters. These specifications apply only to the two references named below; they should not be transferred to another Allied or Allied Chrono.
#1 Best Overall
- Chronograph Movement with Tachymeter: Features a tachymeter index along its outer minute track to measure speed
- Stainless Steel Adjustable Bracelet: Stainless steel bracelet fits comfortably on your wrist and can be adjusted for a custom fit
- Sturdy Stainless Steel Watch Case: Sleek and scratch-resistant stainless steel
- Iconic 60's Design: This timepiece retains the classic Marlin features with a domed acrylic crystal lens and retro-style square markers at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock
- Water Resistant to 50 Meters
| Reference | Case | Band | Crystal and movement | Water resistance | Other listing details |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TW2T33100UJ | 42 mm diameter; 11 mm thick | Black silicone strap | Mineral glass; quartz analog | 100 m | Low-lead brass case; one-year warranty against manufacturer defects; Philippines country of origin |
| TW2R46600UJ | 40 mm diameter; 11 mm thick | Stainless-steel bracelet | Mineral glass; quartz analog | 50 m | Low-lead brass case; one-year warranty against manufacturer defects; Philippines country of origin |
The listed 42 mm and 40 mm diameters are not a complete picture of wrist fit: neither listing supplies a lug-to-lug measurement here. Nor do these two listings establish the specifications of the particular Metropolis Allied or Allied Chrono a buyer may be considering.
What the Allied Chrono adds—and what remains unverified
A September 2018 The Awesomer feature describes the Allied Chrono family as offering chronograph functionality, water resistance and Indiglo illumination across multiple case, color and strap styles. This is historical family-level coverage, not confirmation that every reference has those features. Check the exact watch’s Timex listing or manual for chronograph layout and operation, illumination, movement and water-resistance rating.

- Chronograph Movement with Tachymeter: Features a tachymeter index along its outer minute track to measure speed
- Natural Leather Strap: Adjustable leather strap fits comfortably on your wrist
- Sturdy Stainless Steel Watch Case: Sleek and scratch-resistant stainless steel
- Iconic 60's Design: This timepiece retains the classic Marlin features with a domed acrylic crystal lens and retro-style square markers at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock
- Quick-Release Spring Bars: Refresh your look in seconds with endless strap options - no tools required
A retailer listing describes an Allied Chrono as Metropolis and mentions quartz movement, Indiglo, QuickDate and 50 m water resistance, but gives a 60 mm low-lead brass case measurement. That dimension is anomalous and should not be relied on without confirmation against documentation for the exact reference. The retailer listing does not establish the dimensions of the watch discussed here.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to compare two specific watches
- Identify each reference. Read the model number on the case, paperwork or packaging. Do not assume a related Allied listing describes the watch in hand.
- Compare fit and band details. Check case diameter and thickness, lug-to-lug length if available, band or bracelet material and width, and whether a replacement band is compatible.
- Verify functions and construction. Confirm crystal, movement, chronograph controls and subdials, illumination, and the stated water-resistance rating against documentation for each reference.
- Evaluate the actual purchase. Compare condition, price and service documentation for the specific watch and market. The historical prices reported in 2018 are not current-price guidance.
The available sources do not document exact-reference measurements for both title watches or establish their present-day availability. Without handling the identified references, they also cannot support claims about comfort, finishing, timekeeping accuracy, pusher feel, lume performance or durability.
