The measurements above are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Timex lists both as mechanical, hand-wound watches, but the pages cited here do not establish the movement caliber or source. A nearby 34 mm Marlin may instead be quartz: for example, Timex identifies the TW6A03800 bracelet model as quartz with an SR626SW battery. How the 34mm case is likely to suit you
A 34 mm diameter and 10 mm height make the cited references relatively compact by their listed dimensions, which may appeal if you prefer a smaller, vintage-proportioned watch. Those numbers alone cannot tell you how it will look or feel on your wrist: wrist size, case shape, lug span and personal preference matter, and the official pages do not provide a measured wrist-fit assessment. Try the exact variant if fit is a deciding factor.

The listed weights also differ substantially: Timex gives the expansion-band TW2W44500 as 58.36 g and the leather-strap TW2R47900 as 31.3 g. That difference is consistent with distinct band configurations, but it does not substitute for trying the watch; comfort and perceived heft depend on fit and individual preference.
Hand-winding: what Timex says, and what remains unknown
These versions are mechanical hand-wound watches, so they are not the battery-powered quartz Marlin. Timex’s TW2W44500 page advises winding until resistance is felt and winding at around the same time daily. The cited listings do not provide a power reserve, measured accuracy, or independent findings on winding feel or timekeeping. If those are decisive, seek evidence for the precise reference rather than assuming that “mechanical” implies a particular performance level.
Acrylic crystal: classic look, more scratch care
Timex lists acrylic crystals for both cited hand-wound variants. Timex describes acrylic as more prone to scratches than harder crystal materials, while noting that scratches can be buffed. This is the manufacturer’s explanation, not an independent durability test. If avoiding visible scratches is a priority, consider whether you are comfortable with that care trade-off. Water resistance is for splashes, not swimming
Timex rates the cited hand-wound references to 30 m and says that level is suitable for hand-washing or accidental splashes, not swimming or diving. Treat this as a splash-only watch in practical use; the depth rating is not permission to swim with it. Timex water-use guidance.
Band choice, fit and availability
Expansion-band TW2W44500
The TW2W44500 pairs its pink dial and stainless-steel case with an expansion band. Timex lists a fit range of 135–190 mm (5.3–7.5 in) for that band. Confirm the stated range against your wrist and how you prefer a watch to sit; it applies to this reference, not every 34 mm Marlin.

Leather-strap TW2R47900
The TW2R47900 is a separate hand-wound model with a silver-tone dial and leather strap. Timex lists an 18 mm band/lug width, but that figure alone does not prove a particular strap is removable or compatible with a replacement. Check the exact watch and attachment before buying a strap.

Is the Timex Marlin Hand-Wound 34mm worth it?
The cited models are worth considering if you want a compact, hand-wound watch and are comfortable choosing by exact reference. The pink-dial expansion-band TW2W44500 has a documented fit range; the silver-tone leather-strap TW2R47900 is a distinct, lighter-listed alternative.
