The Tissot PRX is a collection, not a single watch: it includes automatic Powermatic 80 models in 35mm and 40mm, as well as quartz versions. This review focuses on the 40mm Powermatic 80, reference T137.407.11.351.00, and compares its published specifications with two other PRX options. The figures below are Tissot’s specifications, not results from a hands-on test.
What is the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40mm?
The representative automatic model reviewed here is Tissot reference T137.407.11.351.00, listed on Tissot’s U.S. storefront. It has a 316L stainless-steel case and bracelet, a Swiss automatic movement, a date display, and a see-through caseback. Tissot specifies a Nivachron balance spring and a power reserve of up to 80 hours. These are manufacturer claims, not independently measured performance results. Tissot’s U.S. product listing gives the full specification. No URL was provided for the additional note, so no link is included.
The watch has a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the underside and a stated water-resistance rating of 10 bar (100m/330ft). Tissot lists a two-year warranty and a quick-release bracelet. Its dimensions are 40mm wide, 39.5mm long, and 10.93mm thick, with a 12mm lug width; listed weight is 138g. Those measurements help describe the watch, but they cannot determine how it will feel on a particular wrist.
Which PRX size and movement should you choose?
Choose by case size and movement first; specifications from one PRX should not be assumed to apply to another. Tissot’s cited listings cover these three distinct versions:

35mm automatic or 40mm automatic?
The cited 35mm Powermatic 80 is 104g, compared with 138g for the cited 40mm reference. It is also 35mm across rather than 40mm. These dimensions and weights may help narrow your choice, but wrist shape, personal preference, and how a watch wears are not established by the product specifications. If possible, try on the specific size before deciding.

Automatic or quartz?
The Powermatic 80 is automatic; the cited 40mm quartz reference uses a quartz three-hand movement and has a battery end-of-life indicator. The automatic model’s stated 80-hour reserve does not apply to the quartz watch. Select the exact movement and reference you want, then compare that model’s listing rather than relying on the PRX name alone.
Is the PRX water resistant to 100 metres?
Tissot lists 10 bar, equivalent to 100m/330ft, for the cited 40mm Powermatic 80 and 35mm Powermatic 80, and 10 bar/100m for the cited quartz model. This is a stated rating for those references, not a claim that every PRX has identical specifications. Follow the model-specific manual for use and care; the rating alone does not establish suitability for every activity or condition.

Can you change the PRX bracelet?
Tissot describes the cited automatic models’ bracelets as quick-release and interchangeable, and lists compatible PRX straps on its product pages. Compatibility is size- and reference-specific. Check the strap against the reference on your watch before ordering; the cited listings do not establish that generic third-party straps will fit.

Tissot’s U.S. product page displayed $850 for reference T137.407.11.351.00 when accessed October 7, 2026. That is a time- and market-specific listed price, not a guaranteed current price or a price for every PRX. Confirm the exact reference, region, seller, and price at the time of purchase.
